Extended data:
The origin of "water cube";
The Water Cube is located in the Beijing Olympic Park, echoing the Bird's Nest from afar, reflecting the local people's idea of a round sky. Together with the Bird's Nest separated by a wall, it is called the two landmark buildings of Beijing Olympic Games.
Kang Wei, general manager of the National Aquatics Center Company, said that the blue water molecule building and the "Bird's Nest" in the east are round, which embodies the architectural concept of "a round place" in China.
Compared with the design of the main stadium "Bird's Nest", the "Water Cube" embodies the femininity of more women, one masculine and one feminine, which is in sharp contrast and has great visual impact.
