Shantou Housing and Construction Bureau is accelerating the popularization of pipeline gas construction in old residential areas in the central city, promoting the upgrading of Shantou gas pipeline network infrastructure, and allowing more residents to use "safe gas" and "economic gas". 248 old residential areas with pipeline gas have been developed, and 87% of the plan has been completed. The coverage rate of pipeline gas users in the central city increased to 65.82%, and 94% of the plan was completed.

According to the work plan, the installation of pipeline gas in 288 residential areas in the central city will be completed within two years, involving about 84,000 residents. By then, the coverage rate of pipeline gas users in the central city will increase to 70%.
