Have you mastered six "air pockets"
Careful inventory shows that there are six air pockets in the fourteen meridians of the human body, namely Hegu, Zusanli, Gaojia, Zhongshan, Guanyuan and Qihai. It is called cavitation because these acupoints have a strong function of invigorating qi. To sum up, these acupoints are located on Yangming Meridian and Renmai of hands and feet.

(1) Hegu

Hegu point is the most frequently used point in clinic. It is the original point of the large intestine meridian on the Hand Yangming Meridian, that is, the original qi in the kidney reaches the input port of the Hand Yangming Meridian through the triple energizer, so it has a strong function of invigorating qi. Generally speaking, where the muscles are rich and uplifted, the qi is strong, and where the muscles are shallow and sunken, the qi is weak. Clinically, when we acupuncture, we must first look at the basic situation of the patient. The simplest thing is to look at Hegu. If it is sunken, it means that the qi deficiency is obvious and the acupuncture effect is not good. This phenomenon is more common in patients with stroke hemiplegia and long-term bed rest.

When needling Hegu point, it is best to press the thumb or forefinger of your left hand on the point and insert the needle along the nail direction to relieve the pain caused by acupuncture and avoid puncturing blood vessels. Hegu point has a strong pulse, so it has a strong sense of acupuncture. Do not carry out large-scale acupuncture, especially for patients with weak constitution, so as to avoid fainting. The feeling of slow acupuncture can be transmitted to the index finger.

Hegu is widely used and can treat a wide range of diseases, but it cannot be separated from the function of invigorating qi. In addition, it also has a strong effect of warming yang and promoting qi circulation. Therefore, Hegu has a good effect on exogenous diseases and meridians, especially in the treatment of exogenous diseases.

Among the five Shu points, Zhongjing has the shallowest pulse gas, generally only 1.2. There is no feeling of anger, only pain. Its usage is more like pricking collaterals and bloodletting, which gradually deepens from the qi of circulation, transportation and meridians until the qi of meridians is already deep and contacts the viscera inward, so deep needling at acupoints can dredge the pulse qi.

Hegu point is the original point, so acupuncture can be deep or shallow. Generally speaking, Hegu point has the function of warming yang and benefiting qi, but deep needling and shallow needling have different functions. Shallow needling has the functions of relieving exterior syndrome, publicizing hair, inducing resuscitation and rising yang, while deep needling is beneficial to dampness, lowering adverse qi and strengthening body.

Acupoint selection method: stretch thumb and forefinger, and touch from the distal end of dorsal interosseous muscle 1/2 to its proximal end to find the depression. The intervalley space is located at the proximal end of the first dorsal interosseous muscle.

(2) Zusanli

Zusanli should be the most frequently used acupuncture point except Hegu. On the Foot Yangming Meridian, it is the meeting point of the stomach meridian, and its pulse gas is deep, which further contacts the viscera. Yangming meridian itself is a meridian full of qi and blood, while Zusanli is rich in muscles and acupoints, so it has a strong role in tonifying qi and blood.

Zusanli only nourishes qi, not gas. Instead, it can make the gas flow downward. "Sheng Huifang" said, "Ordinary people are over 30 years old, and if they don't moxibustion for three miles, their eyes will be dark, so they will be depressed for three miles." This sentence is very simple. People's eyes begin to dim over 30 years old, which is caused by no moxibustion at Zusanli. Clinically, many patients get angry after long-term moxibustion, which is caused by moxibustion at Zusanli without using Guanyuan and plaster.

Zusanli can generally stab 1.2 inch. Because the muscles here are rich, there is almost no need to do needles after the needle is inserted, patients will get angry quickly, and their ankles and instep are swollen. Some patients can go directly to the second and third toes. If you reach the fourth and fifth toes, it means that the acupuncture is too deep and has passed through the stomach meridian to the gallbladder meridian.

Zusanli has three main indications. First, chronic diseases and acute diseases of digestive system are ineffective, such as acute stomachache. Acupuncture at Zusanli is not as fast as pressing Zhiyang to relieve pain. Second, chronic debilitating diseases, such as perennial cough and asthma, dizziness and shortness of breath; The third is psychosis, insomnia and madness; The fourth is weakness and pain in the lower limbs.

Acupoint selection method: Touch from bottom to top along the tibia, touch the lower end of tibial tuberosity, and then slide over tibialis anterior to the first depression on its lateral edge, at the gap between tibialis anterior and extensor digitorum longus.

(3)

Plaster is the acupoint of the bladder meridian of Foot Taiyang, but it is not particularly easy to find. In most cases, it is covered by the scapula, so when we are looking for it, we must let the patient hold the shoulder with both hands and completely open the scapula and expose it completely. No wonder such important acupoints should be hidden so well that the outside world will not cause harm to this place.

The heart and lungs are the two most important organs of the human body. Heart governs blood and lung governs qi, both of which are closely related to the movement of qi and blood. The plaster is just between Feishenhu point and Shenxintang point, which shows that it has a powerful function of communicating and tonifying qi and blood. Therefore, the ancients thought that all diseases could be cured with a certain basis, and the clinical application effect was really good.

There are two main reasons why acupuncture is rarely used at this point: first, pneumothorax is easy to occur if the angle and depth of acupuncture are not well grasped; Secondly, from the clinical practice, the effect of acupuncture treatment is not good. The application of plaster is moxibustion and bloodletting. Qian Jin Fang Yao once pointed out: "This kind of moxibustion is over, and it makes people feel healthy." It shows that moxibustion ointment can supplement the yang of human body, so the ointment is a good tonic point, especially good at treating chronic cardiopulmonary diseases. Professor Wang Juyi often uses plaster to treat various chronic and difficult diseases with low immune function.

As for the number of strong moxibustion patches, there are no specific records in various literatures, ranging from moxibustion to top 100. In short, moxibustion is appropriate. When moxibustion is repeated, patients will feel dry mouth and chapped lips. This is because moxibustion can quickly replenish the qi of the heart and lungs, resulting in excessive qi in the chest. At this time, moxibustion at Zusanli can reduce the hot air in the chest, which can not only alleviate the discomfort during moxibustion, but also have a higher therapeutic effect.

Acupoint selection method: let the patient hold his shoulders with both hands and open 3 inches next to the Du meridian under the spinous process of the fourth thoracic vertebra. Anatomical language, that is, the medial margin of scapula and the lateral margin of iliocostal muscle of pectoral muscle. The acupuncture point found by the master of traditional Chinese medicine, Ni, is located 3 inches below the fourth thoracic vertebra and next to the fifth thoracic vertebra 1/3. This is the same as the positioning method described in Acupuncture and Moxibustion Gathering English.

(4) Zhongshan

Zhongshan has two meanings: first, it refers to Zhongshan point, which is the point of inviting pericardium and the point of meeting qi on ren meridian; The second refers to the cavity between the heart and the lungs. Theoretically, the second meaning seems to be more in line with the viewpoint of Qi Hui, but we don't need to completely separate them and understand them as inside and outside.

"Qi in Tai Su and Wei Ying" says that "Zongqi accumulates in the chest, emanates from the throat and breathes through the heart and lungs", indicating that the qi in the chest refers to the heart and lungs and is dominated by the whole body qi, so it is also called "Zongqi". The place is called "Qihai". This is what "On Shu Hai's Spirit" said: "The person in the body is the sea of qi", so it can be seen that the body mainly supplements the qi of the heart and lungs.

Zhongshan point focuses on regulating the qi of the heart and lungs, and has the functions of dispersing the lung, broadening the chest and lowering the adverse qi. It can not only treat asthma, cough, vomiting, hiccup, chest tightness and heartache, but also treat shortness of breath, fatigue, postpartum blood deficiency and lack of milk. "Or needling qi, a point in the middle of acupoints, is clearly recorded in Song of Guiding Needles", mainly in lung qi.

Acupoint selection method: chest, the current median line, the fourth intercostal, and the midpoint of the connecting line between the two nipples.

(5) Qi Hai

Qi Sea, also known as Dantian, as its name implies, is the sea of vitality and the root of breathing, so it is a very important acupoint for lower energizer. Therefore, the machines of gasification and steaming are all born from this, and their functions are to replenish the essence and warm the kidney yang, just like increasing the salary at the bottom of the kettle. Therefore, they can warm the spleen and stomach to help transport and transform, decompose Shui Gu, steam the bladder, and make it gasify and rise, so that the body fluid can be divided into four parts, and turbid yin can be obtained. There are essential differences between Qi Hai and Guan Yuan. Qi and sea tend to warm and tonify yang, while Guan Yuan emphasizes nourishing yin.

"Difficult Classics" says that the sea of qi is the sea of vitality and the place where people's vitality breeds. Wang Zhizhong, a famous doctor, often feels deficient in qi and blood because of his weak health. An old master gave him moxibustion, and as a result, he recovered. Tianyi Luo's Book of Health Preservation also often uses moxibustion to "make up for Yang Jiao's deficiency". It shows that Qi-hai has the effect of nourishing vitality, and doctors in past dynasties have regarded it as the key to benefiting qi and keeping fit. It is often combined with Guanyuan point for various qi deficiency syndromes, such as visceral prolapse, chronic diarrhea, nocturnal emission, impotence and stroke.

Acupoint selection method: Qi Hai is located in the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, below the umbilicus 1.5 inch. The midpoint between the navel center downward and Guanyuan point (in the lower abdomen, on the median line, Guanyuan point is located 4 horizontal fingers downward from the navel center) is Qihai point.

(6) Guan Yuan

Guanyuan is the acupoints of Ren meridian, the point of small intestine recruitment, and the intersection of Zusanyin and Ren meridian, where the qi of triple energizer is born. The place where men hide sperm and women hide blood is the key to life and the place where qi is hidden, while the place where Yang passes through customs is at the threshold of vitality, so it is called Guanyuan. The vitality of the human body starts from here, passes through the triple energizer, and is transported to various meridians, where it meets the nourishing qi, and * * * exerts the functions of vaporizing meridians and nourishing viscera.

Although Guanyuan has many functions, such as invigorating kidney, strengthening body, invigorating primordial qi, restoring yang, stopping leukorrhagia, clearing turbidity, regulating yuan, eliminating pathogenic factors, and enhancing health care. The role of regulating kidney yin and kidney essence is particularly prominent. Can be used for treating nocturnal emission, sexual impotence, frequent micturition, enuresis, urinary incontinence, menoxenia, amenorrhea, leukorrhagia, metrorrhagia, vaginal rigidity, postpartum hemorrhage, vulvar pruritus, hernia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dysentery, proctoptosis, dizziness, insomnia, and apoplexy.

Acupoint selection method: Guanyuan point is located in the lower abdomen, on the anterior median line, 3 inches below the umbilicus. When taking acupoints, let the patient lie on his back, at the intersection of the lower 2/5 and upper 3/5 of the connecting line between navel and pubic symphysis.
