I first met Cai when he was a child, when he was practicing track and field in Waima No.2 Primary School. 1978 loves lifting dumbbells, and was selected to be trained in the weightlifting class of Shantou Amateur Sports School. Because of Cai's outstanding performance, he was selected to the Bayi weightlifting team with 1979. Since then, at the age of 0/5,/kloc-left his hometown and embarked on a weightlifting career. 1985, in the national weightlifting championship, Cai broke the national record of 75 kg for the first time; After that, he won gold and silver medals in the Asian Weightlifting Championships, the Asian Games and the World Weightlifting Championships. At the 25th World Weightlifting Championship held in Greece from 65438 to 0986, Cai won the 75kg snatch and became the first heavyweight world champion in China. It is called "the dawn on the critical line" by the weightlifting circles in China. From 65438 to 0988, Cai won the fourth place in the weightlifting competition in the 24th Olympic Games and became a dazzling star in the weightlifting field in China.
After 1993 retired, Cai coached the national team from 1993 to 2002, and trained Olympic champion Zhang and world champion Chen Xiexia. Cai is now the head coach and captain of Bayi weightlifting team. At present, many of Cai's disciples are preparing for the Beijing Olympic Games in the national team.
Times have changed, and the former world champion has now become an "Olympic gold medal coach". Cai, who once coached the weightlifting team, devoted his sincerity and love to the training of young athletes, and successively trained five world champions and several national champions. At the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, Zhang, a disciple of Cai, won the first place in the 69 kg class and the coveted Olympic gold medal, fulfilling the dream of two generations of "weightlifters".
Cai has always been proud that he is from Shantou. Without the support and care of Shantou, my hometown, I would not have my own today. He is deeply honored to be elected as the torch bearer of Shantou Olympic Games, and is more likely to be the first person to carry the torch in Shantou. He should cherish the opportunities and honors given to him by his hometown and show Shantou people's elegant demeanor to the world and the whole country with the best mental outlook. He also wrote an inscription: "I wish the Olympic torch relay in Shantou a complete success."
