It is a custom in northern China since the Ming and Qing Dynasties to swim away from all diseases, also called walking away from all diseases. Some were carried out on 15, but most of them were carried out on 16. Stay away from all kinds of diseases spread in rural areas of northern Shaanxi. It is a kind of fitness exercise to eliminate various diseases through sightseeing and walking, which is more common in women, the elderly, children or the infirm.
At first, this activity was limited to women. Women in northwest China tend to do housework and raise children, so they are tired, weak and prone to illness. On the night of the 16th day of the first month of every year, they go out for wandering with the main purpose of driving away diseases, which means to drive away diseases at home. Over time, traditional customs have been formed.
Visiting all diseases on the 16th day of the first lunar month is a long-standing traditional folk activity in Cangxi County. Cangxi people have the habit of climbing high and looking far on this day and doing exercises in the spring, which also means that they can eliminate all diseases and be safe and healthy in the new year.
The role of all diseases:
A "walk" is a whole-body exercise and aerobic exercise, without any special venue, equipment and personnel. You can go with someone on sunny days, but no one can. You can go with an umbrella on rainy days. 365 days a year, basically rain or shine, you can walk at home or outside, in the city or in the countryside, in the plains or in the mountains and rivers.
Second, it can be pleasing to the eye and broaden the mind. Take a walk in the morning and watch the rising sun and the dripping green trees. Take a walk at night and look at the moon with stars and lights.
