The base is located in Yuhuatai Scenic Area, which belongs to natural hilly landform. The new R&D Center spans two 6-meter-high platforms, embedding the building in the site, with the upper part leading to the natural slope and the lower part connecting with the built industrial zone, so as to preserve the site memory to the maximum extent.

Dialogue Gate+Cloud Gallery
In order to divide the volume and avoid direct line of sight conflict, the building is divided into three groups and twisted appropriately, and connected by a 30-meter-long "cloud corridor" on the fifth floor. This has formed an "air enjoyment layer", turned the square into a covered gray space, created a dialogue between the scenic spot and the industrial zone, and promoted the communication between them.

Courtyard in the wind+terrace terrace
In order to improve the "microclimate" under the relatively hot and humid conditions in Nanjing, all three groups of buildings have implanted open inner courtyards or covered atriums. The five-story sunny atrium space becomes an interactive space in the vertical direction. At the same time, the way of retiring from the platform and introducing it simulates the natural form of terraced fields, providing users with opportunities for dialogue and communication with the natural environment.

The standard floors of these three R&D buildings are divided into1500m2, 2000m2, 3500m2 and 5000m2, which can accommodate teams of different sizes. According to different spatial characteristics, it is designed as a "compound community" along the vertical direction. Both the laboratory and the parking lot are located in the basement. Using the large deep space in the semi-basement, there is an open staff restaurant and coffee lounge in the front area, which can see the external landscape, and a kitchen and supporting services are set up in the back area. Because the basement and semi-basement entrances are both reception space and exhibition space, users can enter from different facades. The fifth floor is the "Cloud Gallery", which includes training, fitness, meetings, libraries and other public spaces. There is a hanging garden on the roof with a panoramic view. Employees can enjoy rich space experience and perfect humanized service on different floors.

Integrated design+whole process service
AECOM's three professional teams, architecture, landscape and interior design, work closely together to stimulate each other's creativity and ensure coordination. In the interior design, bright yellow and orange red are used to strengthen the interactive communication space, and the double stairs on the floor of Yunlang are designed as an open lecture space similar to a stepped classroom. Landscape design makes full use of local natural landscape resources and creates various themes such as leisure steps, lawns and waterscapes. , and strictly control at multiple implementation nodes, solve the construction site problems, and make the concept and creativity present with high quality.
