Wuqinxi is a traditional fitness method in China, which consists of five movements imitating animals. Five-bird drama is also called "Five-bird Exercise", "Five-bird Qigong" and "Hundred Steps Sweating Drama". It is said that it was created by Hua Tuo, a physician in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Wuqinxi is one of the most popular fitness methods in China. 1982 On June 28th, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and the then State Sports Commission of China issued a notice, regarding traditional China fitness methods such as Wuqinxi as one of the contents of "Healthy physical education class" promoted in medical colleges.
In 2003, China's State Sports General Administration promoted the five-animal play and other fitness methods as the content of "Fitness Qigong" to the whole country. It is said that Wuqinxi was invented by Hua Tuo, a famous doctor in Han Dynasty, but some people think that Hua Tuo was the organizer of Wuqinxi, and there were many similar fitness methods before Han Dynasty. The earliest record of the name of "Five Animal Plays" is Tao Hongjing's Nourishing and Prolonging Life Record in the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
However, some people think that Hua Tuo, a famous doctor in the Eastern Han Dynasty, is said to have created a set of medical qigong to prevent and cure diseases and prolong life by imitating the movements of five animals: tiger, deer, bear, ape and crane. It is a bionic achievement method, which is characterized by "external movement and internal quietness", "seeking quietness in movement" and "both movement and static", combining rigidity and flexibility, and both internal and external repair.
The five animal plays are tiger play, deer play, bear play, ape play and bird play, and each action imitates the corresponding animal action. The traditional Wuqinxi, also known as hua tuo wuqinxi, consists of five plays and 54 movements.
The simplified Wuqinxi newly compiled by China Sports Commission is divided into two movements, namely: tiger lift and tiger pounce; The deer came and ran away; Yun Xiong, Xiong Huang; Apes lift, apes pick; Birds stretch and fly. Each movement is completed symmetrically left and right, with respiratory conditioning.
