Workers who can practice more than 1 set of health qigong exercises, master the methods and rules of judging health qigong competitions, and can undertake the work of judging health qigong competitions at or above the county level may apply for a three-level health qigong referee, which will be examined and approved by the county-level sports administrative department.

There is an honorary referee for fitness qigong. Engaged in fitness qigong referee work for 20 years (the number of years can be appropriately relaxed for those who have made outstanding contributions), judging national and international fitness qigong competitions 10 or more without obvious misjudgment, and national fitness qigong referees over 50 years old or first-class referees with special contributions can be recommended by the provincial sports administrative department and awarded the title of honorary referee with the approval of the State Sports General Administration.
