In view of the purpose of self-defense and fitness, you don't have to learn a certain martial arts. In fact, no matter what martial arts, it is nothing more than training strength, reaction, flexibility and physical strength, and then attacking and defending through the actions of different sects.
Personal recommendation:
1. Practice the strength and flexibility of upper and lower limbs and waist, whether for self-defense or fitness. When strength training is in place, speed, fighting ability and physical strength will naturally increase. As for movements, anyone can punch and kick. As long as you have physical fitness, you don't have to learn the different skills and rules in fighting skills. Just like a person from China speaks English, no matter how good your English is, you should also translate your ideas into English.
2. There is also a very important point-the understanding of human body structure. Learn more about acupuncture points, veins, joints and other harmful or even fatal parts of the human body. You can protect yourself more effectively and subdue each other faster.
Personally, I think fighting is actually the above two points in the final analysis. I have been practicing martial arts for 20 years. I have been a coach in sports schools and martial arts schools. I love fighting, and I have learned many countries' martial arts, of course, none of them are good. But gradually, I feel that the skills of various sects are not important, but their own quality is important. As long as a person has hands and feet, he will hit people, and in the most direct way. For example, I just cited the example of China learning English, and fighting is the same. If you have studied a certain martial arts systematically, you will be bound to it more or less, but if you learn more, you will be confused.
Therefore, it will be more convenient and direct to exercise a strong body in your own way.
