Jiang Xinzhou is located in the northwest of dangtu county, east of the main channel of the Yangtze River. It is named after the gradual deposition of sediment in the Yangtze River. It consists of Jiang Xinzhou, Taixing and Xingfu, of which Jiang Xinzhou is the largest, so it is collectively called Jiang Xinzhou.

At the end of Yuan Dynasty, sandbars were formed, and dikes were built for reclamation at the beginning of19th century. North-south length 14 km, east-west width 5 km. The administration is subordinate to Jiangxinxiang, with 50,000 mu of cultivated land and a population of 26,000. Rich in cotton, rice, peanuts, rape, vegetables and so on.
