Gerda? Gerda samuels is an 83-year-old grandmother. Last May, she took part in the first running race in her life and passed the finish line. Although it is only 2 miles (about 3.22 kilometers), the biggest purpose of this competition is to run happily for charity, but for the 83-year-old, this competition makes her feel that she is not old, so she is elated and very happy to receive hugs and congratulations from strangers after the game.

? Gerda Samuels is something that can be done at any age. Before she started running, Gerda had always been a fitness lover. Three years ago, she used to exercise in the gym near her home, but recently it was closed, so she couldn't find a suitable place to exercise for the time being. Even so, she likes group life and occasionally goes hiking with friends or husbands. Later, Gerda contacted the local YMCA, where many people of his age also loved sports. Although she thought it was crowded in the past, when she first walked into it, she was deeply moved by the vitality and enthusiasm inside. So she threw herself into it and participated in the SilverSneakers training program specially designed by the YMCA for the elderly. There are all kinds of old people in this class. Everyone is smiling, which is very interesting. They can dance to the music. One of them is 94 years old. When she was training hop, she tried to attend every class even though she was not as tall as others. At the same time, it also makes others know more about exercise and fitness, which is really something that can be done at every age. In fact, Gerda likes walking and running since she was a child. When she was a child, she lived in the forest of a small German village. She often exercises with her family to calm down today's troubles or think about something.

I believe you can do it, you can overcome everything. In order to motivate people to exercise, the YMCA organized a 2-mile (about 3.22 km) happy running and walking activity. Although the distance is short, it is still a big challenge for her at the age of 83. Not only that, the first half of the journey is uphill, but Gerda's determination to cross the finish line is enough to overcome all these difficulties. A few months before the competition, the YMCA advised her to walk five miles a week. She was determined to achieve her goal and told herself that she would be able to do it. During the training process, in addition to trying not to stop her feet, she will smile and wave with her running friends nearby from time to time, and sometimes she will play with them when she sees the puppy!

? Gerda samuels was very nervous on the day of the game, so she asked a friend to go with her. Although she didn't walk as fast as her friends, people around her cheered and encouraged her when she passed uphill. There are also mothers pushing strollers and women on crutches in this competition. Therefore, she also got up more courage and rushed to the finish line. When the medal hung around her neck, Gerda felt as if she had won the Olympic champion. She accepted the fact that she is old, but her performance is enough to prove that there are still many things to do in this world.
