I am a Korean from Yanbian, Jilin, and I have opened a Korean restaurant. Koreans are also one of the ethnic minorities who celebrate the Lantern Festival in China. In terms of festival customs, most of them are the same as Han people, but there are also some special programs.
Send a lamp
Koreans also call the Lantern Festival "Shangyuan Festival", which is held on the 15th day of the first lunar month every year. On this day, Koreans should first send lanterns to ancestral graves, then put lanterns in the hall, hang sky lanterns in the yard, hang wall lanterns on both sides of the courtyard door and put lanterns in the river.
Erming wine, medicated rice and whole grain rice
During the festival, Korean families should drink Erming wine before breakfast. It is said that drinking this wine can make them hear and see. Men and women, old and young, should have a drink. If you can't have a drink, just drink a little, but you must drink Erming wine on an empty stomach. This wine is not specially made. Anyone who drinks wine on the morning of the fifteenth day of the first month is called "Erming wine". Medicinal rice is made of rice and honey as basic raw materials, with dates, chestnuts and pine nuts. Because the raw materials of medicinal rice are expensive, it is not easy to mix, and sometimes five kinds of "five-grain rice" such as rice, millet, rhubarb rice, glutinous rice and Mi Dou are used instead. Eating whole grains is to pay homage to crows, so in the past, the fifteenth day of the first month was also called "the day of death". According to legend, Koreans avoided a disaster with the help of crows. People who have eaten five grains of rice can wish good weather and good harvests.
