The following is the first one. We walked into chamouni Town, a ski paradise.
Mandela famously said, "Sports have the power to change the world." Indeed, at present, the diverse values of world events such as the Olympic Games in promoting new urbanization, innovating the development of sports industry and promoting the change of residents' lifestyle are being continuously explored.
"Without sports, there will be no city, no leisure, no life", and the introduction or holding of globally influential sports events has been combined and applied by more and more city managers as a new urban development and governance strategy.
Chamonix, a French town, is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak on the roof of the European Alps. It is a small town with a permanent population of only10.3 million, but it has a high global reputation. This is not only because the town was once the venue of the first Winter Olympic Games of 1924, but more importantly, chamouni is fascinating, charming and world-famous for its ice and snow sports. It receives more than 2 million mountain skiers and daily tourists every year, and is called "Mecca" in the hearts of ice and snow sports enthusiasts all over the world.
In fact, the town of chamouni can stand out from many ski towns in the Alps. In addition to hosting the first Winter Olympics, he is also good at grasping the opportunity of hosting the Winter Olympics, taking root in historical traditions, carrying forward the winter Olympic heritage, deepening the ice and snow culture, promoting the Olympic heritage to help upgrade and expand the sports industry, change the leisure lifestyle of residents, and promote the innovative development of the ice and snow economy. This is the key secret of its rapid rise in ski towns in Europe.
Sports tourism destination starting from mountain climbing.
Shamuni Town has a long history and tradition of sports. 1786 In August, local hunter Jack Balma and doctor Michelle Pacal climbed Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe at an altitude of 48 10 meters for the first time, which set off mountaineering in the whole Alps and started the development of alpine sports in chamouni town. Since 182 1, the managers of Shamuni town have focused on the development of alpine sports industry and set up a tour guide company with local tour guides as the core to provide various professional mountaineering services for tourists from all over the world.
With the increasing popularity as a mountaineering tourist destination, the world's first mountaineering guide school-French National Ski Mountaineering School, Alpine Police Training Center, Alpine Military Academy, Alpine Medical Training and Research Institute and other professional education and training institutions have successively settled in chamouni Town to provide professional services and escort for the alpine sports in the town. After more than 100 years of development, chamouni town has become increasingly mature in alpine sports and professional services, and has become the most attractive alpine outdoor sports holy place in Europe and even the world.

The Winter Olympics venues turned around gorgeously.
Being the host of the first Winter Olympics is an important opportunity for the transformation and development of chamouni Town. 1924, in order to prepare for the first Winter Olympic Games, Shamuni Town Government specially set up an ice rink for skating and ice hockey, and built a world-class ski instructor training center. If hosting the Winter Olympics has greatly promoted the development of alpine ice and snow projects and the improvement of reception service facilities, then changing the development concept, concise the theme of characteristic towns, deeply cultivating ice and snow cultural resources, scientifically planning the layout of venues, and taking the road of differentiated development are important strategies for Shamuni town to realize rapid transformation and innovative development after the games.
After the Winter Olympics, according to the town's natural resource endowment, the chamouni Town Government formulated a scientific and detailed post-game utilization plan for the venues and facilities of the Winter Olympics, and established the strategic goal of building a famous European resort and winter sports center. In order to better serve the residents and tourists in the Olympic venues, Shamuni Town has scientifically transformed 13 large ski resorts and hundreds of snow trails, with a total length exceeding 100 km. From the primary greenway and intermediate red road to the extremely difficult underworld, enthusiasts of all levels can find their own snow trails here.
At the same time, the French ski school ESF was established in chamouni Town (which has now developed into the largest chain ski school in France and a world-renowned ski guidance institution), equipped with world-class ski instructors, which can provide targeted professional guidance for skiers of different levels. In addition, Shamuni town has built more than 5,000 rock climbing routes and numerous ice climbing and mountaineering routes in Mont Blanc and holas, using rich and concentrated rock climbing resources, which has met the diverse sports needs of residents and tourists.

After a long period of deep cultivation of resources and improvement of facilities and services, Shamuni Town has now formed a series of outdoor sports brands such as mountaineering, alpine skiing, mountaineering, paragliding, mountain cycling, ice climbing, skating and ice hockey, as well as a multi-format comprehensive operation mode integrating "accommodation service+leisure business service+medical rescue service+mountaineering guide service", realizing the transformation from "Olympic venue" to "sports tourism destination".
Give play to and amplify the post-Olympic effect
The Olympic Games is not only a grand event of sports, but also a display of sports culture. Olympic heritage includes not only the material cultural heritage such as Olympic venues, sports facilities and related cultural facilities formed around the Olympic Games, but also the intangible cultural heritage such as all the ideological systems and activities of the Olympic Movement. How to understand and deal with the relationship between competitive sports and national fitness? How to exert the post-Olympic effect and promote the post-Olympic economic development? How to truly integrate the Olympic cultural heritage into the real life scenes of residents in the host city, so that local residents can have more sense of gain and happiness? These are all important issues facing all the host governments of the Olympic Games, and chamouni has made fruitful explorations in this regard.
After the Winter Olympics, Shamuni Town Government set up a working group to brainstorm and systematically study the protection and inheritance of Olympic cultural heritage. After comprehensive investigation and expert consultation, the results show that chamouni town has neither the advantage that Olacher town in Hertzog is the headquarters of world-famous sports enterprises Adidas, Puma and Schaeffler, nor the historical tradition that Ronda town in Spain is the birthplace of modern bullfighting, nor the brand leverage that Wimbledon Championship has in Wimbledon town. However, chamouni is blessed with natural conditions, suitable altitude and fresh air, and is regarded as a skiing paradise. From September every year, the town enters the snow season, which can last until next April. In addition, the daytime temperature is suitable in winter, and the outdoor temperature can be kept at about 2-5 degrees Celsius at noon.
Therefore, the local government finally established the strategic goal of taking the ice and snow theme culture as the breakthrough point, respecting the sports tradition of the town, digging deep into the cultural soul of the town, integrating the ice and snow cultural heritage of the Winter Olympics into the lifestyle of residents, and developing the ice and snow economy. At the same time, taking full account of the seasonal fluctuation of ice and snow sports, we will implant diversified industries with "ice and snow" as the main industry, and build industrial clusters of outdoor sports such as alpine rock climbing, alpine skiing, mountaineering, alpine paragliding, alpine cycling, ice climbing, skating and ice hockey. In summer, chamouni has opened up 160 kinds of forest hiking routes suitable for different people. In water sports, there are also canyon rafting, whitewater surfing, upstream and downstream projects, and amusement pools equipped with waterfalls, whitewater, sprinklers and massagers.
French National Skiing and Mountaineering School
In addition, Shamuni Town relies on sports characteristic homestays, rural restaurants, outdoor training schools, sporting goods stores, etc. to form a multi-format sports characteristic consumption chain, so that outdoor sports can interact with many industries such as medical treatment, rehabilitation, health care, photography and training, and establish a market-oriented profit model and a complete industrial ecosystem, which will comprehensively affect the production and lifestyle of the people in the town. These measures make Shamuni, a century-old town, continue to glow with vitality.
When sports take root in the region and blend into the local area, it will inject new vitality, new kinetic energy and new vitality into the social and economic development of the region. Perhaps, people's memories of places famous for sports, such as chamouni, often begin with an event, a club, a landmark sports building or even a sports star, but in the end, they will always remember this destination because of a beloved sports event, a group of like-minded fitness friends and an unswerving sports complex. Whether it's a city, a small town or even a sports ground. This may be the inspiration from the French town of Chamonix.
