What is the history of Tai Ji Chuan?
Tai Ji Chuan is one of the familiar boxing styles, and people are familiar with it because of the rendering of martial arts novels and its unique health preserving methods. There are many schools in Tai Ji Chuan, which can be roughly divided into Chen, Yang, Wu, Wu, Sun and Zhao Bao. Let me talk about their relationship. Chen taiji's biography is said to have been created by Chen. Jia nian (1644) lived in seclusion before and after the collapse of the Ming dynasty, entertaining himself with fists and worshiping his grandchildren. In the first half of his legacy, he said, "Alas, in those days, I was persevering and persevering, and ... I stumbled several times!" Blessed in vain! I'm dying of old age now, and there's only one roll of Huang Ting left. Make a fist when you are bored, plow when your heart comes, and teach a few disciples and grandchildren in your spare time to make Jackie Chan a tiger. ..... "According to" Chen Quan Machinery Spectrum ",the gloves made by Chen are Tai Ji Chuan (13 potential) No.5, Changquan No.180 potential No.1 (potential name is not detailed), cannon hammer No.1 and so on. Later, Chen-style Tai Ji Chuan was divided into Yang-style, Wu-style, Wu-style and Sun-style, which was indisputable in real time, so some people said that Chenjiagou was the birthplace of Tai Ji Chuan. That's it. We might as well think about it. Legend has it that there are several grandfathers of Taiji Chuan: Xu Xuanping in the Tang Dynasty (AD 6 18 ~ 907), Zhang Sanfeng in the Song Dynasty (AD 960 ~ 1278) and Ming Dynasty (AD 1368 ~ 1644). During the Tang Dynasty, Xu Xuanping, a native of Shexian County, Anhui Province, traveled to Li Bai Cave. When he saw Xu Xuanping's poems, he thought they were "immortal poems" and visited Shexian many times. Song Jiyong's Chronicle of Tang Poetry says that Xu "walks like a galloping horse and doesn't eat. Every negative salary in the Tang Dynasty was sold in the city. Li Bai's visit was not satisfied. He wrote poems on Wang Xianqiao. So some people take this as a reason to think that there is no historical record, which is ridiculous. Let's not talk about it for the time being. According to Ji Fang Yi Zhuan in Ming Dynasty, Zhang Sanfeng said, "People from Yizhou, Liaodong. Quan Yi, a Junbao, and Sanfeng's name. Because it is not trimmed, it is also sloppy. " However, The History of the Ming Dynasty also said: "It is said that when people were rich in the early Yuan Dynasty, they studied Taoism with Liu and then in Taiqing Palace." Zhang Sanfeng's biography of Tai Chi was denied as "a collateral meeting after the Revolution of 1911 (19 1 1)". This matter is still not mentioned for the time being. Let me take my time. It is difficult to get a continuous and systematic record of the history of Tai Ji Chuan after Zhang Sanfeng. However, the spread of modern Tai Ji Chuan was continued by Wang Zongyue's introduction into Jiang Fa. Jiang Fa passed it on to Chen Changxing in Chenjiagou, Wenxian County, Xing Xihuai in Zhaobao Town, and Chen Changxing passed it on to Yang Louchan. Since then, it has developed into Tai Ji Chuan schools, such as Chen, Yang, Wu, Wu, Li, Sun, Zhao and national routines. Yang's record can be found in the preface of Yang Chengfu's Complete Book of Taiji Biography and Body Use: "On the day when my father wrote a letter, Taiji was founded by Zhang Sanfeng at the end of the Song Dynasty, and the inheritors were Wang Zongyue, Tong, Zhang Songxi,. Master Chen Changxing is the only disciple of Mr. Jiang. " Tai Ji Chuan is a kind of martial arts, which originated from Tai Ji Chuan and Zhao of Yang. Li Yishe, the nephew of Wu Yuxiang, wrote in "Introduction to Taiji" in 1867: "Taiji originated in Zhang Sanfeng in Song Dynasty, which is exquisite and ingenious, but Wang Zongyue's theory is exhaustive. Later, it spread to Chenjiagou, Henan Province, where the surname Chen was smart and wise, and not many people were represented. Yang from Nanguan, my county, loves learning. Conscientious, more than ten years, extremely exquisite preparation. After Li Xuan, people in the city were very nice. My mother's uncle Wu Yuxiang saw it and fell in love with it. She often compares it with others, but refuses to give it to others easily. You can only get a rough idea. In Zhaobao Town, Huaiqing County, Henan Province, there was a man named Qing Ping, who was skilled. After the New Year, my mother-in-law went to Henan on business and visited Yan. It takes more than a month to study, but it is exquisite and amazing. ..... "This article is the earliest record of the origin of modern Tai Ji Chuan. When Li wrote Preface, both Yang Luchan and Wu Yuxiang were alive, and Xiao Xu should be a reliable work. There is a Song of Du Xujin's Teacher Biography in Chen's Tai Ji Chuan Spectrum and Chen's Tai Ji Chuan Spectrum written by Chen's descendants. Du is a descendant of Zhao Bao. Visible Chen Xin also admitted that Tai Ji Chuan was circulated in Wang Zongyue and Jiang Fa. There is no doubt that Wang Zongyue is the master of Shanxi. Mr. Tai Chi, an archaeologist who is over 100 years old, visited Chenjiagou as early as 19 17, and personally listened to the introduction of the gentleman who was writing the illustrations of Chen Tai Ji Chuan. Chen Xin simply said that this is Shaolin Boxing handed down by Chen Jiashi, which has a history of several hundred years. The villagers call them Chen family members. Tai Ji Chuan was passed from Jiang Fa to Chen Changxing. He was a seal man in the south of the Yangtze River and opened a tofu mill in Xi 'an. The people surnamed Chen even thought it was a shame to beat the Chen family, and Chen Changxing was not allowed to teach them any more. Chen Xin also introduced Du to let Du beat Tai Ji Chuan (see the study of Tai Ji Chuan). It can be seen that the above history was also recognized in Chenjiagou at that time. Tang Hao's "Examination of Wang Zongyue" proves that Wang Zongyue is a native of Shanxi. He lived in Luoyang in the fifty-sixth year of Qing Qianlong (179 1), and then lived in Kaifeng and Qianlong for sixty years (1795). Jiang Fa was also from the Qianlong period. According to Chen Xin's notes, Chen Changxing was born in 177 1 and died in 1853. Changxing was at least 25 years old when Wang Zongyue died. This coincides with the time of Wang Chuan and Jiang Changxing. In recent years, Li Pai's Taiji descendants published Chen Changxing's Preface to the Origin and Development of Tai Ji Chuan, and made a concrete account of Wang Chuanjiang and Jiang. The full text is as follows: in the year when there was a general angle, I learned martial arts from my teacher every time. With brave fists, true stories are hard to come by. And my teacher, Mr. Jiang, is a disciple of Wang Zongyue School, and got the true biography from his wife, Wu Tangshi. He died of smallpox when he was young and was abandoned in the countryside. Suddenly, the wolf bit his scalp, and he felt pain. He let out a cry and scared the wolf away. A neighbor passed by, heard his crying and took him as Jiang's son. So I hugged him and sent him home. Later, the acne healed, but half of the scalp became a big scar, so later generations called it "Mr. Scar Head". The world is famous, and anyone who is brave in boxing will not refuse. I studied under my husband for 20 years, all taught by my teacher, and all my skills were given to me by him. When my master was young, he also practiced Shaolin Waijia Boxing Stick. In the early summer of Qianlong, he practiced boxing with people in the paddock at the temple fair. Suddenly I saw two guests leading the horses outside. One of the older guests seems to have a little pity for all the people who are practicing boxing sticks. While Mr. Wang was meditating, a classmate and senior took Mr. Wang to a deserted place and said to him, "I just led Mr. and Mrs. Ma to praise Mr. Wang very much and said,' It's a pity that this son hasn't really passed down. If he is under my brother's door, Xue will be famous all over the world within ten years. "Hearing this, Mr. Wen knew that the two guests were masters of acrobatics, and there must be amazing stunts. Because he followed him to a place where no one was there, he knelt down and asked, "May my teacher be merciful and sincere, and leave him at the door so that my disciples can teach him." The two guests smiled and said, "This child is really ridiculous. We don't know skills. How can we teach you? " Mr. Wang couldn't kneel down for a long time, pleading again and again, as for crying. A guest praised Yun: "I didn't expect you to be a child, but if you are sensitive, it is really gratifying and lovely." But he said to the old man, "This son is sincere. Brother, why don't you put this son under the door and teach him? " According to my brother's observation, I can teach technicians for us in the future, and this child is sure to be competent. The old man seemed to get permission, so he said to Mr. Wang, "Since the child is determined to learn from me, he can wait for his former brothers under the willow tree here at noon one day next month." Say that finish, two guests rode away. On the appointed date, Mr. Wang will wait at his place at 5 o'clock. At noon, I saw two guests coming on horseback. I saw Mr. Wang standing by the roadside waiting for him. He smiled and said, "boy, if you don't break your word, you have been waiting here for a long time!" The teacher smiled and said, "The disciples came here to pay homage to my teacher." Jia Yun, the second guest, said, "If your son is willing to teach you, you can do it." . From this, I know that the boy's belief in respecting teachers and valuing morality is firm and sincere. If I refuse again, it will be a negative talent. Today, if you worship me as a teacher and learn from me, Paul will succeed in ten years. "Mr. Wang invited two guests to his home to pay homage to the teacher. I learned that the predecessor was Mr. Shanyou of Wang Zongyue, and the next one was Mr. Gan Fengchi of Jiangnan. Both of them are contemporary masters, famous all over the world. My teacher studied under the master Mr. Wang Zongyue for ten years, and I studied under Mr. Gan Fengchi and Mr. Zhang Fengyi, so I became a chivalrous master. I studied under Mr. Xing, and learned various levels of Taiji Chuan Kung Fu, as well as various marksmanship, knife-cutting, swordsmanship, as well as internal skills of practicing Qi. It is not only an authentic martial art, but also a treasure of self-cultivation. I have passed on my teacher's skills in this generation, so I will put my teacher's last words in the book to let later scholars know the origin of our boxing. At first glance, this order shows that Wenzhou School in Henan started from Jiang. I can report my teacher's teaching to you when I am in trouble. In the first year of Jiaqing, Wenzhou Juyue Chen Changxing made a preface. According to the research of the descendants of Li School, Chen Xu was passed from Yang Luchan to Wang Lanting in his later years, and then from Wang. Li's descendants have kept it a secret so far. Lu Chan should have got it from his teacher Chen Changxing. (See Yang Yongren's textual research on the origin of Tai Ji Chuan, 1988.4) Interview with Wang Jiaoyu in Beiping World News 1934. Reporter Wang Zhuyu Yan Jiaoyu is over 80 years old. He used to be taught by Yang Banhou. Wen said, "I once heard that Mr. Yang Luchan ... Mr. Wang Zongyue called Jiang Fa bald, which caused great anger in Jiang Fa. In a rage, he compared with Wang Zongyue. As a result, Wang Zongyue hit a man ten feet away three times. At this point, I realized that Wang Zongyue was an extraordinary person. He rushed to Mr. Wang Zongyue, knelt down and called out to the master, begging to be an apprentice. Repentance and collapse, such as bleeding. Mr Wang Zongyue examined his sincerity before agreeing to accept him as a classmate. "This article is different from the plot of Chen Xu, in fact, there are some exaggerations and touches, but what Wang Chuan and Jiang Fazhi said is a proof. Wang Zongyue's relationship with the teacher is gone. But his great contribution to modern Tai Ji Chuan is indelible. As the forerunner of the Tai Ji Chuan Movement, from Wang to Jiang to modern schools, great achievements have been made. Wang Zongyue's On Tai Ji Chuan, in particular, tells the true meaning of Tai Ji Chuan's theory and practice, and is regarded as the first classic by major Taiji schools. Wang Zongyue's "General Formula of Yin Fu Gun Spectrum" is also a criterion for practicing Tai Chi gun (which was later developed by the Yang family as Tai Chi pole). Yin Fu gun is actually a Tai Chi gun. It's just that its formula has not been widely circulated. Wang Zongyue's On Tai Ji Chuan is actually an exegetical text of Zhang Sanfeng's Six Classics. Due to the omission in circulation, Zhang Sanfeng's Boxing Classics are out of touch with Wang Zongyue's Boxing Theory, resulting in many misunderstandings and confusion. This is why some people say that Tai Ji Chuan originated in Chenjiagou, wen county, Henan, but it started in Zhang Sanfeng. No matter what school Tai Ji Chuan is, it is the same, so it is not important who created it, but the important thing is to inherit and carry it forward.
