Weihe River is the mother river of Baoji people in Guanzhong and western provinces. For thousands of years, Weihe River has nurtured generations of sons and daughters of the Western Qin Dynasty, and also nurtured the splendid and profound Jiangyan culture and Zhou and Qin civilizations here, becoming an important source of Chinese civilization. However, because Guanzhong is located in the semi-humid area in the north, the water quantity of Weihe River is limited. In the dry season, farmland irrigation in Weibei dry plateau has become a difficult problem, and it was not until the Weihe diversion canal was completed and put into operation that this problem was fundamentally alleviated.

Baojixia diversion irrigation project is a large-scale low dam diversion project in western Shaanxi Province. Start the design with 1958, and 197 1 finish. Irrigation of Xianyang, Baoji 13 county10.7 million mu of land is an important water conservancy project to ensure the stable and increased production of farmland in Guanzhong.

The Weihe River diversion canal starts from the head of Linjia Village in Baoji Gorge, and the Weihe River water flows eastward along the north slope and tableland, nourishing the fertile soil in the north of Weibei. When it meets Jinling River, a tributary of the left bank of Weihe River, the diversion canal crosses Jinling River in the form of aqueduct, forming a rare "river on the river" landscape. There are eighteen bridge opening under the aqueduct, so my hometown people call it "eighteen-hole bridge", which is one more bridge opening than the famous seventeen-hole bridge in the Summer Palace.

Not long ago, I took a walk in Jinling Valley until I came to the 18-hole bridge, and I carefully observed the aqueduct. However, seeing that the aqueduct is straight, a canal of clear water "flies" across the Jinling River and continues to flow slowly eastward.

Standing by the canal, leaning against the railing and looking around, the sky is blue and the world is vast, with a panoramic view of the northern tableland and Nanshan. Jinling River flows under its feet and rushes to the arms of Weihe River. Residential areas, factories and shops on both sides of the strait are arranged in turn, with traffic shuttles on Jinling East Road, fitness trails on the embankment and tourists coming and going in Binjiang Park, creating an ecologically livable living atmosphere.

Flying over Jinling, the design is ingenious, and the rivers and canals crisscross and go their own way. Aqueduct is clean, moist and fertile, nourished by Wei water, and endless.
