Gateball originated in Japan and croquet. Croquet originated in France and then spread to England.

At 1947, Mr. Woxin Suzuki from Hokkaido, Japan had an idea to design a sport for young people. This sport is played on a rectangular court with a length of 25 to 20 meters and a width of 15 to 20 meters (inside line size). There are three goals and a goalpost on the court. The game adopts the system of five people against five people, and the players let the ball pass through the goal in turn to reach the finish line according to the rules.

In the competition, each team has five balls, a red ball and a white ball. The red and white balls are alternately hit from 1 ball to1ball. Each player has a ball (his own ball), and the number of the ball is the same as the player's number, that is, the number when the batter hits the ball for the first time in the teeing ground. If the batter successfully hits the ball through a door, it is called the "first mound" and the batter can hit the ball again. The same is true for two or three doors. Every time the ball passes through 1 goal in sequence, it gets 1 point, 2 points for hitting the goal post, and 5 points for completing a game. At the end of the game, add up the scores of each player to decide the outcome. The team with the highest score is the winning team.
