Fawang Temple is a famous ancient temple in southern Sichuan and northern Guizhou, which was endowed with ten jungles during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. Founded in Song and Yuan Dynasties, it flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the early Qing Dynasty, Zhang Xue, the great ancestor of Zen Buddhism, an authentic master of Lin Ji, chose Fawang Temple as a lecture temple in southern Sichuan and northern Guizhou to promote Buddhism. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, Wen Zhuan, a monk from Sansheng Temple in Chengdu, came to Fawang Temple to preside over it and inherited the legal system of Lin Ji. Later, generations of eminent monks, such as Shenyu, Hui Yuan, Wulian, Defeng, Guo Shan, etc., diligently started businesses, invited Buddhist scriptures, practiced Buddhist scriptures, built Wanshou Pavilion and set up Buddhist colleges. The Fawang Temple flourished and became famous. Wangfa Ancient Temple covers an area of 8,400 square meters with a building area of 4,800 square meters. It consists of the mountain gate, Guan Temple, Wanshou Pavilion, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, Tibetan Scripture Building, Buddhist College, Zen Hall, Guanyin Hall and East-West Wing. All the buildings in the temple are supported by 228 red stone pillars. The whole temple is made of red stone. With its huge engineering, magnificent modeling and exquisite carving, it has become a wonder of ancient temple architecture and is known as "the first masonry in the world". The world is amazed by it, making it "dedicated to Buddhism forever." He also gave the Fawang Temple a ten-square jungle to preach the precepts. Empress Dowager Cixi personally hung a plaque and half a set of funeral utensils for the "Fawang Temple" and escorted the Tibetan scriptures back to the temple. In order to repay the emperor's kindness, after more than ten years, Wanxing Pavilion was built to pay homage to the imperial edict and funeral ceremony, and the Fawang Temple "has the highest incense in southern Sichuan".

194 1 year, the Fawang Temple established the Buddhist Academy, which is a great achievement for the Buddhist altar in southern Sichuan and northern Guizhou. Master Taixu of Chongqing Jinyun Mountain Sino-Tibetan College is the honorary president of the Buddhist College, and famous wizards from all over the country come to give lectures. There are no research classes and ordinary classes in the Buddhist College, which teach profound Buddhist theories and general teachings respectively. There are more than 100 monks who have studied for a long time. The Buddhist College was dissolved on 1949. After the Fawang Temple was opened, monk Mingren, director of the first temple management committee, monk Hongneng, deputy director, and monk Yan Di were all monks of the first Buddhist College.

The Fawang Temple is also a famous scenic spot and tourist attraction. In the past, there were ten natural landscapes, such as Shi Yanfei, the eye-catching tide, Zhu Xuan's confide, the water of heaven and earth, Keelung's wave absorption, the gradual dawn of the moon, the lotus blossom, the giant Buddha looking around, the white horse always appearing, Guanyin Dragon Ball and so on. The trees around the temple are covered with green, bamboo surges, streams are lingering, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant, and it is one of the well-known scenic protection forest areas. Its red beans, ginkgo biloba, rock red, Fokienia hodginsii, nanmu, ancient camphor, Cooper, Gu Song and other national protected trees surround the whole temple. The lush foliage covers the sky, the green trees cover the blue tiles and red walls, setting off the cornices and painting pavilions, and the drums reverberate long and fascinating in the morning and evening.
