Enlightenment of American primary and secondary education

American education advocates individualized learning and cooperative learning, that is, learning by doing. Education has produced outstanding talents from generation to generation in America. Recently, I had the opportunity to accept a middle school training course organized by an American university professor. I felt deeply and gained a lot. This paper will elaborate some insights in training.

1 school education should respect people's personality.

When we entered the classroom at nine o'clock in the morning, two American education experts were already waiting for us in the classroom. The projection on the wall projected the national flags of the United States and China to show our welcome, which was both warm and appropriate. At the initiative of the professor, we divided the long desks in the classroom into seven groups with four students in each group, and we also divided them into seven groups according to the requirements of the professor. The professor suggested that everyone stand up and do a class aerobics with her, which is divided into three movements. The first action is to clap each other's hands and move the lower limbs left and right to make the whole body move. This is also a little warm-up. The second action is to swing the left hand and left foot back and forth synchronously, so that the body can move back and forth and see the coordination of people. The third action is to clap your hands and turn left for a week. With the music, everyone did it together as required. Although they were all principals, they were embarrassed and unfamiliar with the essentials of aerobics, but they did it seriously and were soon praised by the professor. Everyone's mood immediately brightened up and their enthusiasm was obviously high. After three activities, we sat in our seats at the request of the professor.

The second part of the course is to introduce yourself and stand up at the same time. Although everyone knows each other, because this is the requirement of the classroom, we introduced ourselves carefully in a slightly personalized way, and the classroom atmosphere immediately became active. The third link is that the professor sends each student a study material, which is a paper folder full of English materials. The professor began to explain the concept of classroom and the current situation of primary and secondary education in the United States. Compulsory education in the United States is twelve years. Students come from different countries and nationalities, and their cultural backgrounds are very different. Generally speaking, schools should offer 25 language courses to meet the learning needs of different students. In the first grade of primary school, 50% students can't speak English skillfully, let alone read textbooks in English. This is also the biggest problem faced by American primary education, and it is also the educational problem that American basic education has been trying to solve. As can be seen from the following three processes, professors can mobilize students' learning enthusiasm and respect students' personality characteristics through some activities. The professor who teaches us is a female doctor named Stephanie Holcman. She used to be a primary school principal and a junior high school principal, and also worked as a university professor for many years. She is an expert in primary and secondary education.

Teachers should use brain theory to guide students' personalized learning.

Stephanie Holcman teaches our students the cognitive process and theory. After people receive information from the outside world, these information are transmitted to one nerve area of the brain, where neurons transmit these information to another area of the brain, and after being processed by the brain, they are immediately transmitted to respond. The professor asked each member of our group to play a role to perform the process, and the whole class showed a state of excitement. Then seven groups perform, and finally let the seven groups form a circle to show the acceptance and reaction state of thinking. After such experiential learning, everyone has a deep understanding of the information received by the human brain in the learning process, and can guide teachers to conduct effective teaching and respect students' personality characteristics in the future teaching management. Especially in classroom teaching, we should analyze and compare key knowledge and difficult knowledge in many aspects, so that students can truly understand the naturalness, sociality and humanity of knowledge, master the laws and characteristics of knowledge, and promote the continuous improvement of students' learning efficiency.

At the same time, the professor also taught us the relationship between people's sleep and people's intelligence, which made us understand why teenagers have to sleep for a long time every day, otherwise the healthy growth of teenagers will be affected by fatigue. However, due to the evaluation mechanism of enrollment rate, most teachers in daily life are pursuing hard study and more practice, while ignoring the learning rules and the purpose of education. As a principal, only by studying the laws of education and studying hard can we effectively promote students' healthy study, safeguard the physical and mental health and interests of teachers and students, and scientifically improve the quality of teaching.

3 Teaching evaluation should establish green indicators

Professor Stephanie Holzman asked us to play a game in which everyone wrote eight words commonly used in school management on a piece of paper, and then classified them according to the purpose, process and result of education. Write different kinds of words on different papers and stick them on a big piece of paper on the wall, and divide them into three vertical lines, namely, purpose, process and result. When we finished this task, we found a prominent phenomenon. Two-thirds of the papers are concentrated in the column of teaching results, and the teaching process is the least. Professor Stephanie Holzman's analysis of this result shows that our students pay too much attention to the educational results and teaching quality, but seldom pay attention to the value and benefit of the teaching process, which is very consistent with our usual educational management. This result surprised us, but it also reminded us that we should pursue the quality of education, but we must pay attention to the process of education. Only by making the process of education conform to the law of education and embody individuality, humanity, comprehensiveness and science can education truly return to the origin of education and truly implement the concept of quality education.

As the principal, he is the administrator of school education and teaching. If education and teaching management cannot be implemented through scientific and humanistic educational concepts and methods, school education and teaching will inevitably be utilitarian and the quality of life of teachers and students will be deeply affected. Therefore, in the usual education and teaching management, the headmaster should formulate the evaluation mechanism of the teaching process, and promote the fundamental change of teachers' educational ideas and teaching methods through humanized management and green evaluation of the teaching process. Recently, our school put forward how teachers can build personalized learning in classroom teaching, guide teachers to study and pay attention to the learning style and personality characteristics of each different student group, and promote students' all-round development and healthy growth. Students' personalized learning is related to their long-term study habits and ways of thinking, as well as the long-term requirements and evaluations of schools and even teachers. Second, it is related to teachers' own learning habits and ways of thinking. This requires teachers to study the laws of learning and seek ways of learning and growth suitable for their students. Our high school has both students in arts and sciences and students with special skills in music and fine arts. Their professional development is different and they have formed different learning styles for a long time. In the usual management of schools, we should be good at summarizing and studying the characteristics of students in different classes, forming different school-based courses and management methods, and really promoting the good development of students.

Although the training time is only one week, although our language is different from that of the professor, we have gained a lot because of the same educational pursuit and professional purpose. In particular, the differences and evaluation mechanism between eastern and western education enable us to think more rationally about the origin and laws of education, work with scientific thinking, manage with rational methods, and evaluate with green indicators, so as to get primary and secondary education out of the present situation. Dilemma? Education can return to the essence. Of course, how a principal transforms what he has learned or learned into educational management goals and strategies also reflects the management ability and wisdom of the principal, which the principal must face and pursue.
