Yinchuan was always called Ningxia City in Ming Dynasty, so people often referred to it as "Summer City" for short. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, people took Yinchuan as an alias of Ningxia, from which they derived such names as Yin Cheng and Yin Jun, which can be regarded as another name of Yinchuan. After liberation, people used to say "Yinchuan", which is a beautiful place name, easy to catchy and introduce reverie, but other words became less popular.
