Say hello to God!

Strength training and alopecia

Most male friends who are exercising don't know enough about the problem that fitness may lead to hair loss. Many people often realize that they have lost their hair when they are about to lose all their hair. At this time, the treatment is already difficult to deal with.

Male hair loss, as long as the hairline recedes and the top of the head is sparse, more than 95% are androgenic hair loss. Scientists have proved that anaerobic exercise does accelerate androgen hair loss. Why does anaerobic exercise cause hair loss? Because during anaerobic exercise, testosterone in the body rises sharply. Hair follicles on the head and forehead, as the target organs of testosterone, will produce 5α- reductase, which will combine with testosterone to produce dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT will affect the differentiation of hair follicles, which may gradually shrink the hair follicles on the head, thus causing baldness.

Who may lose their hair?

Because of different genes, some people's hair follicles are patient with DHT, or as target organs, they are not sensitive to testosterone, so even high-intensity training will not lead to hair loss. People with family genetic history, that is, parents and their immediate family members have hair loss, are more likely to carry hair loss genes. This kind of people may lead to premature expression of hair loss genes due to excessive strength training, thus activating the hair loss process early. Note that once androgenetic alopecia is activated, it is difficult to reverse it.
