Table tennis standard weight
According to ITTF, the weight standard of table tennis has certain specifications. This article will share an article about the standard weight of table tennis, hoping to help everyone!

Table tennis standard weight:

According to the quality index of table tennis, ITTF divides the ball into three grades, which are expressed by stars to adapt to different occasions. Among them, the highest level is 3 stars. Specifically:

Samsung ball: The weight is between 2.64 and 2.53g, the roundness error is less than 0. 15mm, and the hardness value is less than 0.80mm It is the designated ball for ITTF professional competition.

Two planets: the weight is between 2.40 and 2.53 g, the roundness error is less than 0.25mm, and the hardness value is less than 0.90 mm, which is suitable for major domestic competitions and professional training of national teams.

A planet: The weight is between 2.35 and 2.63g, the roundness error is less than 0.25mm, and the hardness value is 1. 10mm, which is suitable for amateur competitions or fitness in table tennis rooms, schools, troops and units.

How to change the weight of table tennis bat;

Adjust the weight of the racket by changing the thickness of the bottom plate or the size of the board surface: If you want to reduce the weight of the racket, you can also reduce the racket surface appropriately. The traditional racket face is relatively large, so the weight of the racket can be reduced by shortening the face length of the racket bottom plate to about 155mm and reducing the face width to about150 mm. If the weight of the racket is relatively light, we can consider adding a layer of wooden board to the back of the bottom plate to increase the thickness of the bottom plate. For technical reasons, it is difficult to reduce the thickness of the bottom plate or increase the plate surface. Of course, changing the size of the racket face and the thickness of the bottom plate must be prepared to pay the price of changing the hitting performance of the racket. Reducing the racket face will make the racket feel hard, and increasing the thickness of the bottom plate will increase the hitting elasticity of the racket.

Adjust the weight of rubber sponge: As far as rubber is concerned, I have measured the weight of a well-known brand in China, and found that there is an error of about 5g between more than a dozen pieces of rubber with the same model, thickness and sponge hardness, so we can adjust the overall weight of the racket by choosing the weight of rubber sponge.

Adjust the center of gravity of the racket: the normal center of gravity of the racket is conducive to improving the good hitting feeling. As far as the bottom plate is concerned, the normal weight balance point of the bottom plate should be between 43-50% of the total length of the bottom plate. The measurement method is: place the bottom plate flat on the edge of a ruler, and keep the direction of the bottom plate handle at a 90-degree angle with the ruler. Move the bottom plate back and forth at the edge of the ruler to find the weight balance point of the bottom plate. After finding the balance point, measure the length from this point to the top of the plate head, and then divide the side length by the total length of the bottom plate to calculate the percentage. If it is between 43% and 50%, it belongs to the normal center of gravity range.

Generally, the balance point of gravity of traditional backhand with sponge rubber on one side is between 43-46%; However, the balance point of gravity of the horizontal racket or the straight racket with sponge glue on both sides is mostly between 46-50%. If the balance point of gravity of your soleplate is lower than the above 43% or 46%, users will feel that the racket head is overweight. If the balance point of the center of gravity of the bottom plate is higher than the above 46% or 50%, the user will feel that the racket head is too light. For a racket with an overweight head, you can choose a lighter sponge rubber or adjust it by lengthening the weighted handle. Someone added two thumbtacks to the top of the racket handle to adjust the center of the racket. For a racket with a light racket head, you can choose a heavier sponge rubber or use a "metal edge guard" to adjust the center of gravity.

Adjusting the weight of the racket can be done by yourself or entrusted to a professional department. Some table tennis equipment stores have begun to provide this service. For example, Shiaode Store of Cai He Sports Development Service Center provides the service of refitting rackets.

Of course, if the weight of the racket is too heavy or too light, the performance of the racket is not very good. Our suggestion is to re-select a more suitable racket, otherwise it will take time and effort to achieve satisfactory results and will not disappoint people.

Brief introduction of table tennis bat

Table tennis bat consists of a bottom plate and a rubber surface, so it is of course important to choose a good table tennis bat.

The popular trend of table tennis bat bottom plate is different from that in 1960s, which is reflected in two physical aspects. 1. Light weight: In the 1960s, the weight of straight plate was generally between 120- 130g, and that of horizontal plate was between 150- 160g, while the current bottom plate was generally between 90- 100g; Second, the thickness is thin: it was 6-7 mm in the 1960s, but now it is 5-6 mm. In order to pursue these two characteristics, and at the same time to maintain the good performance of "eating the ball without shaking hands and the bottom is strong enough", when selecting materials, it is necessary to choose lighter wood.

In table tennis bats, there are many kinds of rubber sheets, but they can be divided into two categories, one is reverse stickers, and the other is positive stickers. Reverse stickers include reverse glue and arc-proof glue, while front stickers include positive glue, raw glue and long glue. Because of the different rubber content, the reverse rubber has large friction, strong surface adsorption and adhesion, and the contact point between rubber and ball is not easy to slide, which is beneficial to increase the rotation of ball. In order to give full play to this feature, the most important thing is to keep the rubber clean when using reverse glue, and don't wipe the rubber with greasy hands.

People who use a single piece of rubber sheet and sponge sheet should use a fire-roasting electric perm head to iron the rubber sheet when replacing the rubber sheet, so that the glue between the rubber sheet and sponge can be fully dissolved and the sponge can be prevented from being damaged when replacing the rubber sheet. Glue can make the sponge foam and increase its elasticity, but when sticking to the bottom plate, use non-toxic special glue, which can protect both the sponge and the bottom plate.

Selection of table tennis bat

Beginners may wish to use a low-grade racket that is easy to control the ball to correct their movements. After the level is gradually improved and a stable playing style is formed, they may choose the middle and high-grade floor with strong pertinence. Low-end rackets are not necessarily bad to use, whichever one works is good.

For table tennis players who are good at fast attack near the table, it is most suitable to use a sponge racket with rubber. The rubber rubber particles face outward, the contact surface between the rubber and table tennis is small, the ball stays on the surface of the rubber particles for a short time, and the rebound hitting speed is fast, which is conducive to speeding up the attack speed. Athletes who are good at curling and chopping choose to stick their rackets back. Because the racket with inward rubber particles has an extra layer of rubber particles between the rubber and the sponge, there is a gap between the rubber particles, so when the racket contacts the ball, the surface of the rubber particles will be concave inward, and the contact surface with the ball will increase friction. It is by relying on the "stickiness" and greater friction of the racket surface that the player makes the upward-spinning loop ball and downward-spinning chop ball rotate more strongly.

Raw rubber is rubber with upward particles and a diameter greater than the height. It is characterized by sinking the ball and weak spin, which is suitable for players near the middle platform. Positive glue. Good elasticity, stable and fast hitting speed and slight sinking feeling, suitable for players who are close to the table for fast break. Anti-sticking is a kind of rubber with rough side down and sticky side up when sticking, which is adopted by players all over Europe. The spinning power of the anti-glue ball is very strong, so players who mainly play with spinning (such as curling and chopping) must be familiar with this skill. Of course, reverse glue is easy to spin, easy to eat and difficult to master.
