Zhongyuan Institute of Technology is a key discipline construction university with characteristics of Henan Province, which focuses on engineering, takes electronic information, textiles and clothing as its characteristic advantages, and has the coordinated development of engineering, management, art, science, literature, economics, law and philosophy. The school was founded in 1955, formerly known as Zhengzhou Textile Vocational and Technical College, and was affiliated to the former Ministry of Textile Industry. 1998 was placed under the management of Henan Province, and it was renamed Zhongyuan Institute of Technology in 2000.

The school has 265 438+0 teaching colleges (departments) including Textile College, Energy and Environment College, Electromechanical College, Fashion College, Art Design College and Electronic Information College, with 65 undergraduate majors. At present, there are more than 23,000 full-time students.

There are currently 1997 faculty members in the school, including full-time teachers 1400, senior title teachers 6 15, and doctoral degree teachers 61/person. There are 5 national excellent teachers, 5 national model teachers 1 person, 20 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions and 20 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council.

The school has two characteristic backbone disciplines in Henan Province, namely "Intelligence and Aviation Information Technology" and "Textile and Clothing New Materials and High-end Equipment", covering seven first-class disciplines. There are 13 first-class disciplines, 60 master's degree authorization points in two disciplines, and 17 master's degree authorization categories.
