Tonghua City, located at the foot of Changbai Mountain and beside the Yalu River, is a border city with a long history and unique culture. It is the 30th World Cultural Heritage in China. There are unique Manchu culture and Korean culture here. Among them, Tonghua Manchu paper-cut is one of the three major paper-cuts in China.

Tonghua is an eco-friendly city. The forest coverage rate reached 63%. There are four national forest parks with distinct seasons and pleasant scenery, the most famous of which is Longwan Huoshankou Lake Group Park.

Tonghua is the "hometown of wine", and the wine enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad, and is praised as the "pearl in wine" by the world.

Tonghua is also known as "the hometown of Chinese medicine in China", "the hometown of high-quality rice" and "the hometown of skiing". The first alpine ski resort and the first ski museum in New China were established in Tonghua, and the first aviation school in New China was also established in Tonghua.
