Is modern parkour really better than traditional Qigong?
It's not the same concept. There's no comparison.

Light achievement is a part of Wushu system, and it does not exist independently. Light achievement is to serve martial arts. It can't escape, get to its destination faster, or sneak in. Its application scenarios all serve a certain goal, and this goal is often not very bright, which leads to the government, teachers and apprentices' own scruples.

With this purpose, the master dare not teach indiscriminately.

Without this goal, for pragmatic China people, few people are willing to learn a skill "just to run well". No one will learn useless things if they are not full.

And parkour is a sport, which is its own purpose. The goal of parkour is to run better and stretch your body more.

To put it bluntly, running well is the purpose.

Different goals lead to different technical priorities. Lightweight skills are more focused on maintaining combat capability at any time, such as jumping from a height. Lightweight skills are more inclined to use some skills to force the legs to cushion the unloading force, while parkour can roll forward to unload the force.
