The ballet was choreographed by Philippe Tarioni and premiered by marita Tarioni at the Paris Opera House.

"Hope" is based on the common people living in Wuyi area from the 1960s to the first half of the 20th century, and tells the story that men have to cross the ocean to make a living, and women can only marry chickens and follow dogs. This work mainly uses the traditional movements such as wearing, embroidering, swinging, tumbling and drumming of Guizhou drum to express Cantonese embroidery, one of the four famous embroideries in China. The whole dance tells the story that when the embroidery thread is threaded, the ladies on the embroidery screen seem to be lifelike. The work chooses the picture of a beautiful woman as the main carrier of dance performance, and uses the image of group dance to shape a beautiful woman on the embroidered picture, leading the dance to become an embroidered mother, which is artistically presented around the idea that "the needle and thread wraps around the fingertips and the graceful beauty comes out in a few minutes".
