Turtle is an aquatic omnivore. It can eat many things, such as tadpoles, shrimps, small fish, aquatic insects, lean meat, loach, fish, bread, beef, pork liver, rice, fry, wheat, sliced meat, carrots, melons and fruits, carp and so on. To raise soft-shelled turtle, we should first select healthy fry, feed them regularly and quantitatively, keep the water clean, change the water regularly, and take escape prevention measures.
Turtle is a kind of temperature-changing animal, which breathes with its lungs, so there should be enough land beaches around or in the center of the nail pond for it to carry out land activities. The breeding environment must be kept quiet. If turtles are often frightened, it will be very bad for their growth and reproduction.
Attention should be paid to raising turtles indoors
1, choose a good variety.
At present, there are many kinds of soft-shelled turtles, but generally speaking, soft-shelled turtles weigh 500- 1000 grams, with slim figure, mainly yellow-green color, black-yellow pattern spots on the back, yellowish-white belly bottom and no spots.
2. Good water quality
The quality of water directly affects the culture effect of soft-shelled turtle. The pond water is too fat and even stinks, which is not only bad for the growth of soft-shelled turtle, but also affects its meat taste. It is necessary to clean up the leftovers on the table regularly.
3. Do a good job in disease prevention.
In ponds with convenient irrigation and drainage and good escape prevention facilities, 2-3 fry (50- 100g) with basically the same size are stocked per square meter. Usually every 15 days or so, 30-50g of quicklime is poured into the whole pool per cubic meter of water. No trampling or catching turtles in the pond is allowed unless there are very special circumstances. At the same time, bamboo rafts are used to build some drying platforms for turtles to dry their backs.
