There are National Highway 302 and Tuwu Highway running through Yanji, and G 12 Hunwu Expressway (Hunchun-Ulanhot) runs through Yanji. Yanji-Changchun Expressway was opened to traffic in June 2008. There are expressways that go directly to North Korea's Luojin Port, Russia's Bo Schet Port and Russia's Zha rubino Port.

Yanji can go directly to Qingdao, Changchun, Jilin, Shenyang, Anshan, Yingkou, Dandong, Dalian, Harbin, Mudanjiang, Beijing and other places in China, and there are international railway lines leading to North Korea and Russia respectively.
There is a railway leading to Mudanjiang in Heilongjiang to the north of Yanji, which is connected with the Siberian railway from Inner Mongolia to Ussurisk and Vladivostok (Russia), and the Tumen-Nanyang International Railway (up to North Korea's Luojin Port) to the east.
