Economy and Trade of Old Street in Myanmar
Kokang Old Street in Myanmar belongs to a relatively backward area. Since the British colonized Myanmar, poppies have been mainly cultivated here, which is famous for producing high-quality opium. At the beginning of the 20th century, during the reign of chiefs, there was a prosperous history, and poppy gradually became the only source of courage.

Due to years of war, the original social foundation has been greatly destroyed, and the infrastructure has stagnated until the armistice. However, in 2003, the production of opium poppy was stopped, which cut off the local economic sources. The situation of alternative cultivation was not ideal and the economy was seriously affected. On the other hand, the so-called "Little Macau" boldly developed the gambling industry for China tourists, but due to the restrictions of the China government on overseas gambling tourism, its financial revenue dropped sharply.
