Yongding, located in the southwest of Fujian Province, is a county under the jurisdiction of Longyan City, Fujian Province, a border area between Fujian and Guangdong, and a famous old revolutionary base area. At the end of 2003, the registered population was 463 1 1,000, who spoke Hakka dialect in western Fujian and Shanghang dialect. Yongding is a national high-quality flue-cured tobacco base, one of the provincial key forest counties and citrus production bases. Yongding is the hometown of Hu Yichuan, the pioneer and artist of the new woodcut movement in China, the people of China and Zhang Dingcheng, the first procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
