Water-splashing Festival is actually the Dai New Year, and it is one of the most solemn traditional festivals in Xishuangbanna. Generally, it is held in the middle of April in the Dai calendar (about ten days before and after the Tomb-Sweeping Day in the lunar calendar) for three to four days. Gregorian calendar 13 April to 15 June.
