Instructions for use:
1. Run Ramdisk.sys, and then click Install Driver above. In fact, it is to call INF file to install a Ramdisk.sys driver file, which is also in the original XP disk.
2. Select the disk size. It is suggested that 256MB users drive about 32MB, and 5 12MB users can drive more than 128MB. 1G users? Hey hey, it's up to you.
3. Specify the drive letter, and drive R is the default drive.
4. Select the media type, where removable disk refers to the virtual floppy disk drive of the disk. Hehe, how to use the disk of 16MB? I believe that everyone who makes DOS tool disks knows it.
5. To make sure, if I don't prompt to restart, I will see an R disk added to my computer immediately, but according to the memory occupation, the disk size and space value you just set are gone.
Application example:
First, BT application, hehe, take my condensed version as an example. The revised version is 126MB. After compression, it is 1 19MB, which can be completely put on the newly opened 128MB. Copy the original file to the memory disk, then make the BT seed and release it. Hehe, let others BT download your original file. Of course, as long as the memory is large, there is no problem for BT to download CD. Still want BT to download DVD? Sorry, I advise you not to think about it. How much space does a DVD need? Haha ~
2. Web browsing application, right-click IE attribute, select temporary Internet file, and then click Settings to move the folder to R disk of memory disk, which will take effect after restarting. Then open the webpage and try again. Is it much faster? Moreover, after restarting the system, the IE temporary files in the memory disk disappeared, which reduced LJ and protected the hard disk.
Third, put the programs you used to think were slow on the memory disk, such as the green version of Photoshop CS (1 17MB), is it much faster than before? And I didn't click to read the hard disk. Of course, the bigger your memory disk, the bigger the programs you can put. Even if you have 1G memory, you can put a 768MB CD in it.
Suggestion:
First, set the temporary folder directory of the system and tell the system and applications to write all temporary files into the memory disk, which can improve the operating efficiency of the system without worrying about the gradual increase of the temporary folder directory caused by the crash.
The characteristic of the memory disk is that the data is completely stored in the memory, so once the computer is turned off, the data in the memory disk will be completely lost. This feature makes the memory disk especially suitable for storing some temporary files, such as IE cache, temporary files generated when Windows and application programs are running, and it is suitable for being placed on the memory disk to reduce the generation of file fragments on the hard disk without actively deleting these temporary files. Once restarted, these junk files will disappear automatically.
It is this feature that makes the memory disk unsuitable for storing important data and documents, because once it crashes, these things can never be found back.
The operating system requires more than windows 2000, more than 256 megabytes of memory and little memory, so don't use a memory disk, otherwise it will reduce the running efficiency of windows.
Now the installation and setup of ramdisk is very simple. Install ramdisk and run ramdisk. If ramdisk has not been installed, only the Install RamDisk button is available. Click the button to start the installation. Windows may warn the driver that there is no digital signature. Ignore it and just press Yes. Ok, after the installation, all buttons can be used except the ramdisk button.
The setting is also very simple, including only three options: drive letter, memory disk size and memory disk type. There are some advanced settings that need to modify the registry, which is not required under normal circumstances. See ramdisk's description for details.
The size of the memory disk (in kilobytes) depends entirely on the memory of the computer. If your computer has only 256 megabytes of memory, the size of the memory disk should not exceed 64 megabytes. If your memory exceeds 65,438+0 gigabytes, you can even set the size of the memory disk to 784 megabytes.
There is nothing to say about the setting of the drive letter. As long as it is an unused drive letter, the default value is R.
The type of memory disk is fixed by default, and it can also be set to be removable.
After selecting the desired settings, just press the Apply button or OK button. Open the resource manager, and you will find that there is an extra drive letter R (assuming that the drive letter you set is R, you will directly use the drive letter R to represent the memory disk in the future).
After the memory disk is set up, it is to optimize the system and give full play to the role of the memory disk.

1. First, set the temporary folder directory of the system and tell the system and applications to write all temporary files to the memory disk, which can improve the operating efficiency of the system without worrying about the gradual increase of the temporary folder directory caused by the crash.
Right-click My Computer on the desktop. Advanced = environment variables, including user environment variables "TEMP" and "TMP" and system environment variables "TEMP" and "TMP". The paths are all changed to R: \TEMP. Remember, it is best not to use the root directory of r: as a temporary directory. If R: doesn't have this directory, you can create a "temp" folder in R: first.
2. Changing ie's cache directory and telling IE to write all the temporary files generated when browsing the web to the memory disk can speed up IE's browsing. Select control panel = = Intel net option = general = settings to modify the cache directory of IE. If it is broadband, the directory size can be set to 3-5M. (You have to set the directory size first, or you won't see the virtual disk R, so just choose R after setting the size.
Other applications such as winrar need to be set separately, so it is generally easier to find the location to modify the settings. However, if these softwares are installed after setting the temporary folder directory of the system, they will generally be automatically adjusted according to the system settings and do not need to be modified.
4. Open a temporary ftp server to distribute popular files. If the memory is large enough, you can put popular files on the memory disk, so you are not afraid of the problem of hard disk damage caused by multi-thread access to ftp. For example, downloading BT animation usually takes only one week to update an episode, so you can put the download path on the R disk, which is generally about 100M, which is more than 300m larger than AVI, so you can set the R disk a little larger. I believe that people who don't have 1G memory also have 5 12M, so it should be no problem to set a 200M when downloading. But just pay attention to download it in time and move it to another folder, otherwise the restart file will be lost, hehe.
Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and change the settings including "User Environment Variable" and "System Environment Variable" to R:\TEMP. Remember, it is best not to use the root directory of r: as a temporary directory.
Tip 1: The configuration file is stored anywhere.
The configuration file of Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser mainly includes program option settings, bookmarks and extensions, plug-ins and other information. The bookmark toolbar of Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser is in the second line of the main interface, which is similar to the Links function in IE. You can put all the websites you need to visit frequently in the bookmark toolbar, and then click these icons in the bookmark toolbar to open the webpage quickly. This operation is much more convenient than clicking the bookmark in the menu every time. The way to put the URL into the bookmark toolbar is to click Manage Bookmarks under the bookmark menu in the main interface to enter the bookmark manager window. You can move your favorite bookmarks to the bookmark toolbar folder directory like files.

Tip 8: Install common plug-ins for Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser.
In order to slim down, Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser only has some basic functions, unlike IE or Maxthon, which can ensure that Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser is small and not bloated. To extend the functions of Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser, you can install various plug-ins for it. The installation method is as follows: after downloading the plug-in, click Open File under the File menu in Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser to open a plug-in, then install it according to the window prompts, and it will take effect after restarting the program. Here are some common plug-ins:
1.SwitchProxy plug-in: access to blocked websites.
Download address:/switchproxy/switchproxy.xpi.
SwitchProxy plug-in is very useful for domestic users, because it allows you to easily switch proxy servers. However, it will also bring some side effects, that is, it will slow down the speed of Firefox opening new windows.
2. File title plug-in: automatically named according to the title.
In IE, when selecting the file% 26rarr and saving the webpage with the "Save As" menu command, IE can automatically name the saved file according to the title of the current webpage. When you save a web page in Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser, this function is not available. The default file name is Index, which is inconvenient if you need to save a large number of web pages. To this end, you can install a file title plug-in for Mozilla firefox 2.0 browser to achieve the same function as IE.
