Ingredients: 1 old coconut, appropriate amount of glutinous rice (depending on the size of coconut), a little sugar, appropriate amount of coconut milk and milk, medlar, sesame and so on. Add according to personal preference.
Practice: 1. Take a proper amount of glutinous rice (as long as it can hold coconuts) and soak it in coconut juice and milk for one night.
2. Cut the coconut into small mouths with a chopping knife, pour out all the coconut juice for later use, and then cut a slightly larger mouth.
3. Fill the soaked glutinous rice into the coconut, fill the whole coconut, leaving only a little gap, so that the glutinous rice will not be loose, and you can also add medlar and sesame seeds.
4. Pour in coconut milk, just before the glutinous rice, sprinkle a little sugar and mix well (if the rice is soaked for a long time, put less coconut milk).
5. Cover the coconut mouth with tin foil or plastic wrap, preferably with something else.
6. Put the coconut on the shelf in the container and steam it in the pot. After the fire boils, turn to low heat and steam for two to three hours until cooked.
7. After the coconut is not scalded, cut a seam along the edge of the coconut shell, and then open it to reveal the complete coconut meat.
Selection method of coconut
1. Choose coconut varieties according to your preference.
There are two kinds of coconuts, namely green coconuts and yellow coconuts (also called golden coconuts). Green coconut is more suitable for drinking water, while yellow coconut is more suitable for eating coconut meat, squeezing coconut oil, stewing coconut rice or making coconut sauce. The water of green coconut is cooler and sweeter. Drinking fresh green coconut water in summer will make you feel extremely cool. If you want to drink water, it is recommended to choose green coconut.
Step 2 choose the time to eat coconuts
At different times, the feeling of drinking coconut milk is different. It is said that coconuts picked at noon 12 are sweet at 2 pm. In other words, the suitable time to drink coconut water is from noon 12 to 2 pm.
Step 3 pay attention to the color of coconut milk
Fresh coconut milk is milky white, thick, oily and fragrant. Deteriorated coconut juice is very sour and the juice is solidified, so it is not suitable for eating. Coconut juice goes bad easily, so pay special attention when buying it! The variety is fresh and tender, and the top triangle is slightly solid. If it feels soft when pressed, it means that the fruit is too ripe and tastes much worse.
