Leica total station uses absolute code reading dial. Simple confirmation method: set a horizontal angle after starting, then rotate the instrument and turn it off. When the instrument is not moving, turn it on again, and her horizontal angle is still the horizontal angle after rotation.

Grating disc reading: electronic dial reading method is adopted, and the confirmation method is the same as above, but the horizontal angle after restarting the machine will be the horizontal angle entered before rather than the horizontal angle after rotation. That is, if it is turned off or turned on again during the measurement, the measurement needs to be reoriented.

Leica total station TC series adopts the second generation ranging head, and the measuring speed is relatively slow. TPS series adopts the third generation ranging head, and the measuring speed is faster than TC.
