Nanshi Normal University told me that when practicing meditation, my body is swollen and I can't calm down. What should I do?
When we sit up, what bothers us most is that our bodies swell here and feel uncomfortable there. Everyone wants to move, turn, move and be comfortable. Never go this way. If you go on like this, you will exercise in the middle of sitting cross-legged and your heart will not calm down. Zhuangzi's "sitting" seems to be meditation, but in fact he is holding a sports meeting and running around in his mind. So from the appearance, although you feel uncomfortable at this time, you can only endure it, stick to the original posture and never move. You see how pathetic it is. Don't touch your body when you are sad. Don't touch your legs or bend over. Your leg is uncomfortable at this time. Do you feel anything? Yes! But if I ignore you, you won't. That's true. You don't care. You know it's sad. It's good. You know that you are sad and have obstacles, and "knowing" is not above this kind of sadness and obstacles. Is that clear? Very clear. If you can't calm down at this time, it's your karma and habit. In fact, I know that the present is clean and the present is empty. This is the first sentence in the Heart Sutra, which says "being at ease". Like this, you can look at your thoughts at any time, and you are not afraid! It doesn't matter if thoughts come, just remember: all thoughts and ideas, like birds in the air, have passed away. They are empty of themselves, not us. All thoughts and ideas feel like painting flowers on water, and never leave a trace. Do it now, don't worry about your health. Your feelings know that it itches here and hurts there, and "know" whether it hurts or not. Four major disorders, arousing desire and calming you down with meditation. When the Big Four gradually reconciled, the anger softened and the desire disappeared. So is the so-called "habit". Prajna is enlightened wisdom. Where did it happen? I realized it between movement and stillness. What can move, obviously, is this. Physical turmoil, obviously this, has not moved, everything is clear, everything is irrelevant. The energy of life will inevitably develop outward after it is abundant. After meditation, it will not develop outward, so the movement of qi begins in the body, moves to the extreme, melts slowly, reduces karma, and moves qi. So calm and sure, don't ask for a clean. Swelling, pain, acid, numbness, itching, heat and cold are all processes. Don't be afraid of suffering, but don't be too bitter. After suffering, you can suddenly realize. Habitual delusion can't be broken. Don't try to break it, just watch it. Don't try to be strong when you feel groggy. Take care of the groggy. Over time, delusion will not come up, and sleepiness will not come up. They won't come automatically unless you cut them off with your heart. Work hard. Meditation posture is remembered by feeling, not by eyes. When you meditate, your chin is inward, your head is tilted back a little, you forget yourself and your heart is heavy. You don't sink to a certain part of your body and stop, but you put it down, under the center of the earth, into the infinite void below, and then you can settle down. Don't pay attention to the above, ordinary people are used to paying attention. Imagine sinking from the bottom of the sea and sinking under nine places, and you can be sure that the so-called "Earth Treasure King Bodhisattva" is also true. When the heart sinks, the pure yang rises. It makes sense to let you go, but it makes no sense not to let you go. If you don't sink your heart, you will never settle down. Those who are light and clear ascend to heaven, while those who are heavy and turbid condense to the ground. People in their fifties and sixties can often settle down, and the true yang will naturally rise to maintain health and longevity. You see, everything comes from the ground, which is the foundation of all life. If you want to live a long life, you must put it down. Leg pain, backache, too nervous, uneven breathing. Breathing is too loose, take a few deep breaths to make the machine full and lively. Relax, don't be quiet, don't be calm, don't be empty, don't fix it with your heart, that's all. Relax, sink purposefully, and sink below the center of the earth. The body is harmonious first, and the pulse is all connected. Naturally, it can be settled. Let go of your body and mind, and there will be no obstacles. For people who are prone to drowsiness during meditation, the best and simplest way to cure drowsiness is to hold their breath, stop breathing and deliberately control it. Even if you feel sleepy, you can pick your nose with your hands and stop breathing. If you can't hold back, let go slowly and the drowsiness will be eliminated. There are two reasons for excessive sleepiness, two big reasons and many small reasons. One is physical fatigue and the other is mental fatigue and weakness. The only way is to hold your breath.
