ITunes is a digital media playing application, which is a free application for Mac and PC, and can manage and play digital music and videos. ITunes programs manage the content on Apple's iPod digital media player. In addition, iTunes can connect to the iTunes Store (if there is a network connection) to download purchased digital music, music videos, TV programs and iPod games.
Integration with other applications
ITunes works closely with iLife, a digital life suite software under Mac OS X operating system of Macintosh, and iWork, a professional copywriting suite software. Each member of these Apple computer software packages can directly read playlists and MP3 files in the iTunes database. Music files under iTunes can be directly embedded in Pages files, and can also be used to provide music for productions under iWeb, iDVD, iMovie and Keynote. Audio files produced and output by GarageBand will be automatically written into iTunes database. At the same time, FrontRow also reads data from iTunes and iPhoto, so iTunes works well with Front Row.
ITunes Artwork.saver is a screen saver included in 10.4, which displays album artwork as a screen saver. ITunes.widget is a Dashboard Widget used to control ITunes.
Many third-party applications also use iTunes databases. IEatBrainz is a tag adding program for MusicBrainz to query and correct iTunes database through AppleScript.
XY Apple Assistant, as one of the third-party Apple Assistants in China, takes "optimizing the memory capacity of users' mobile phones (slimming phones) and providing the latest iPhone/iPad games and applications for download" as the core requirement, and takes APP as the carrier to meet and cater to the changing needs of users and build a third-party mobile phone application platform.
