I used to force myself to eat less every day in order to lose weight. Before every meal, I have to think twice about how many calories there are in this meal, and I struggle with my willpower every day. I feel my stomach and mouth are particularly empty every day.
Although I have always heard that dieting can't lose weight and will rebound after dieting, I still have to diet for the sake of thinness and beauty. I didn't finally give up dieting until I read the book "Micro-habit Slimming".
The book mentions that dieting is only for short-term weight loss, but what we strive to achieve is long-term and practical weight loss. You need a new set of habits if you want to lose weight successfully. The present and past habits constitute the present weight, and a different set of habits will change the present weight. If you want to change your eating habits, you should practice eating what you want instead of forbidding yourself from eating unhealthy things. Slimming is not a struggle of willpower.
Fighting willpower is really a particularly painful thing. It's really painful to struggle between wanting to eat and not eating every day. What I need is not a diet, not a short-term reduction in intake to achieve the purpose of losing weight. What I need is a long-term, practical and healthy lifestyle.
