In the first year of Liang Wudi's unification, the founder of Dharma came to Jianye from India to appear before Liang Wudi. Sure enough, he crossed the Yangtze River in a fit of pique, headed northwest, came to Shaolin Temple, and sat facing the wall for nine years.

After nine years of practice, Hui Ke broke his arm and became a Taoist priest.
Master Shen Guang, who lives in Luoyang, is diligent in spiritual practice, but suffers from the lack of master's guidance, so he went over mountains to worship Buddha and seek Tao. The divine light bowed to the founder of Dharma, but Dharma ignored it. Shen Guang has a personality. The more you ignore it, the more you have to give up.
One winter day, Dharma meditated in the Dharma Pavilion in the backyard, and the divine light served the teacher devoutly outside the pavilion. The snow slowly piled up, and the divine light stood quietly until the snow covered his knees. Dharma was moved by grief. He glanced at the divine light and asked piteously, "What do you want from me after standing in the snow for so long?"
Shen Guang replied: "I only want to be merciful, open the door of nectar and open up all beings."
Dharma stressed: "Your will is too great. This is a virtuous Xiao Zhi and a cautious heart can get it! Seeking Tao in this way is just in vain! "
Upon hearing this, Shen Guang immediately picked up a sharp knife, cut off his left arm and put it in front of Dharma, bleeding profusely.
Knowing that the divine light is an instrument, the Dharma says, "All Buddhas seek the Tao, and when they are carried away by the Dharma, they can get it."
Since then, the Dharma Institute has attached great importance to this disciple, passing clothes and utensils to Shen Guang one by one, renamed it "Hui Ke" and became the second ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China. To commemorate Hui Ke's broken arm, the monks changed the name "Dharma Pavilion" to "Li Xueting".
