I have carefully looked at the P-picture services provided by these schools in the United States. In fact, it is very simple to remove some shortcomings on children's faces, such as acne, freckles, braces, hearing AIDS and so on. This is a common thing for us. I believe many parents will beautify their children's photos to some extent. The difference is that we take this for granted, without further thinking. When I saw the news, my first feeling was, is it necessary to make such a fuss to get rid of the shortcomings and flaws on the child's face? However, when I deeply understood the reasons given by these American parents, I fell into deep thinking.
I began to have some questions about the behavior of giving pictures to children. However, it is not immediately pushed to my previous thoughts. First of all, what do we think of the flaws and shortcomings on a child's face or body? Any anxiety? There is no denying that most parents have some in their hearts, so we will unconsciously retouch their children's photos, so will this anxiety affect their children? There is a good chance that it will. From this perspective, I think American parents' worries are really justified. This kind of P-picture behavior will really increase children's anxiety about their appearance, and even lead to inferiority.
So, from another angle, what is the probability of this anxiety? This is closely related to children's age and cognitive level. Not all children will be affected, and there is no need to ban them across the board. So my opinion is that schools are still not suitable for such services, and autonomy can be given to students and their parents. Would this be better?
