Method step
① Set Windows Defender to scan regularly.
Windows Defender is the built-in antivirus software in Win8 and Win 10 systems, but by default, the scheduled scanning of Windows Defender cannot be turned off. When Windows Defender scans, if you do other work, the disk occupancy will easily reach 100%.
② Close the family group.
The "Homegroup" function will also lead to high disk occupancy, so if you don't use the "Homegroup" function, you'd better turn it off.
③ Turn off IPv6 protocol.
Win8. 1 and Windows 10 turn on the IPv6 protocol by default, which will also increase the disk occupancy. At present, IPv6 address is not popular, so we can turn off the IPv6 protocol first.
④ Turn off or optimize the "Windows Search" function.
⑤ Turn off the SuperFetch super read-ahead service.
SuperFetch super pre-reading service is mainly designed for enterprise-level applications and large-scale collaborative software, and it is not necessary for individual users to open it.
⑥ Reasonable setting of virtual memory
Although setting virtual memory can alleviate the shortage of physical memory and improve system performance, it will increase the burden of hard disk and lead to an increase in disk occupancy. Therefore, if the physical memory used is large enough, such as 4GB or more, the size of virtual memory can be appropriately reduced, but it is recommended not to be lower than 2048MB, otherwise unknown problems may occur.
