★ Enter this section and start a dialogue with Lucy. Lucy provides three different answers for learners. After clicking the "Record" button with the mouse, choose any response, and the content of the response is sent through the microphone. Lucy understands what the learner said after receiving the information, gives a response immediately and continues to provide three new choices. Or after the mouse clicks the "little hand" button, the computer will enter the automatic instant monitoring and recording mode, without clicking "recording" every time, thus eliminating the repetitive fatigue of fingers, and the computer will select the next dialogue according to the sentences read by the learners, thus forming a real continuous dialogue mode. In this way, the conversation with Lucy continued until the end. After the dialogue in this unit is over, choose to start again and finish the dialogue in another brand-new unit.
After Lucy understands the learner's words, she will make corresponding answers according to the content of the conversation and give her scores. You can know your pronunciation standard according to the score. But there are other factors that affect the score, including the quality of the microphone, the distance between the mouth and the microphone, and the noise level of the environment.
Lucy didn't understand what the learner said. The main reason may be that learners' pronunciation is not standard and their tone and intonation are not mastered. At this time, learners should refer to and imitate the pronunciation of native speakers, so as to improve their pronunciation standards. Lucy provides male and female pronunciations respectively, and learners choose imitation exercises according to the actual situation. Another reason may be related to the environment and configuration. Please check the microphone settings.
★ There are more than 700 completely different conversations in each unit, which means that you won't encounter the same conversation twice when communicating with Lucy. This natural and intuitive way of communication attracts learners and makes them relax. Even the most shy students will feel comfortable talking to Lucy, because they know that Lucy is a virtual foreign teacher, who won't laugh, be bored and considerate. She will wait until the moment when learners speak beautiful English.
Standard pronunciation and interactive practice area for letters
Learners have different problems in English pronunciation, which are caused by their mother tongue. For example, students in China usually have problems with the pronunciation of "V", such as "Violin"; However, Korean students are usually confused about the pronunciation of "th" when reading "thousand". The pronunciation part of this course adopts real person pronunciation, so that learners can quickly break through the pronunciation difficulties through imitation exercises; At the same time, animation simulation technology is used to reproduce the whole process of pronunciation, so that learners can really control the pronunciation difficulties such as the position of the tip of the tongue and the airflow when pronouncing. And each phonetic symbol has special pronunciation exercises for some commonly used words.
Whether practicing with Lucy, in class or under the guidance of teachers, learners can find that they have some shortcomings in pronunciation. By listening to examples and comparing your mouth movements with those in videos and animations, you can correct and improve your pronunciation in this section.

In this section, Lucy changes from the role of interlocutor to a language teacher. Each module contains five instructions, and each instruction focuses on a different "minimum pairing". "Minimum pairing" means that two people with very similar pronunciations are usually confused when speaking and listening. For example, the pronunciations of' b' and' p' in the dialogue are very similar. Unless we understand them from the context of the dialogue, it is difficult to distinguish the difference between' big' and' pig'.

★ The function of this section is an extension of the "Speaking and Grading" section in the "Tutorial" section. Most of the practice sentences in this section are the core sentences in the dialogue between learners and Lucy in the "Lucy intelligent dialogue section" of this course. These sentences are classified in the form of topics respectively. Through the practice of this module, learners can master these core sentences skillfully, strengthen their pronunciation, intonation and sense of language, and lay a solid foundation for achieving the goal of fluent dialogue with Lucy.
Step by step, another function of this part provides "step by step" exercises. "Step by step" practice means that for each sentence, the learner is provided with the last sentence first.
For each word, learners compare their pronunciation with that of native English speakers.
Pronunciation comparison until you are satisfied with your pronunciation. Next, add the penultimate word in this sentence to the exercise, gradually increase and train in turn. In this way, new words are gradually added to the sentence and the end of the clause moves forward, which helps learners to focus on the second half of the sentence, which is often the most easily forgotten part. When learners complete a step-by-step training, they will practice the last word of the sentence five times, while the first word is only once, so this exercise will ensure that they repeat the sentence accurately and smoothly.
