But I spent more than 1w on agency fees, which was my lesson.
Please be sure to look at the last question and ask the intermediary to evaluate the intermediary level.
I'm Eva who has just been ashore for 20 years. I am very happy to share with you my experience in applying for studying abroad and the thunder I stepped on. The dry goods are full. If you are hesitant to find an intermediary, or want to find a reliable intermediary, please be sure to read it!
I began to prepare for the application at the end of February 2020, and the conditions are relatively safe. I am studying in Beijing 985 University, majoring in Spanish, and have a certificate of Deller B2 and CET-4. At first, after listening to the teacher's suggestion, I decided to do DIY myself. I went to official website of various universities to find the links and admission conditions of my favorite majors, and summarized them according to the regional classification. But later, in the process of preparing materials, I found it really troublesome. Foreign websites are really difficult to open in China! So I decided to be a "laid-back" international student and started a magical experience of fighting with my first study agent (I will call it EX later).
It was only March when I found EX (I didn't know the water in the study abroad circle was so deep at that time), and the sales staff received me very, very warmly, with a feeling of hunger marketing in it. At that time, the teacher who received it was full of hype, saying that his intermediary business was very busy, and someone was responsible for correcting the documents and making applications. At this time, it was too late to queue up, so I paid the money and queued up early, and promised us that once I was not accepted by the school, I would refund all my agency fees. So I paid 5,000 yuan for 9 majors in 5 schools.
At the beginning, they gave me a tour group and told me that it was specially made for me. The working hours were from 9 am to 4: 30 pm on working days in Spain. Then they gave me a long list of materials to prepare, including letters of recommendation, resumes, and cover letter templates, but at a glance it was broken Chinese translated by machine, such as "I am honored to be a teacher of xx course and recommend excellent students like xx to your school for further study".
However, after the rush, it is a long wait. After all the materials were handed in, there was no news for half a month. I asked them and got the answer that someone was waiting in line for translation and sorting, so I missed the first batch of applications from CommScope. But before applying to other schools, I looked at the documents and materials they changed for me, and there was almost no change in them. The name of my school still exists in pinyin. After asking, I read it again and applied to the intermediary.
Choosing a school and applying for a major is the biggest difference between me and this institution. I think the significance of studying abroad lies not only in understanding the local customs, but also in improving one's academic qualifications. Therefore, I personally have some requirements for the ranking and major of the school, but EX's attitude towards my materials is generally one sentence: "It is difficult to apply this year, and your major is not recorded by C/KLOC-0", which has some contradictions with EX. My opinion is that the Spanish don't know much about the universities in this place, so the ideal situation is to apply for universities in Madrid and Barcelona, but the planners recommend me either marginal majors in these two places, or various majors in other remote mountainous areas, and even guaranteed admission. Personally, it is better to work directly because the gold content is too low. Is it really acceptable to find a job with such an education? Really don't just think of it as a graduate student who pays money in a diploma workshop?
Finally, I think the most unacceptable thing is the poor tone. No matter for myself or my mother in the group, I can't see the basic literacy of service personnel at all. To put it bluntly, I don't want to be scolded for spending money here. The final application result is also expected. Only one of the nine majors in five schools accepted me, but that major is the guaranteed major that we usually know and don't know what to look for, and the time for the achievement is already July. It is conceivable how many family conflicts broke out in these four months. ....................................................................................................... had been shocked by all kinds of wonderful professional admission notices in EX circle of friends before, and later found out that as long as he was admitted, he would be sent out, so his level was visible to the naked eye.
To sum up, my predecessor didn't hear the admission notice for four months, and his attitude was still very general. And because it is a package of five schools and nine majors, I will not apply again after applying for these schools. If I want to apply again, I need to pay a new fee. I'm actually very flustered after reading the propaganda of various intermediaries sending admission notices for such a long time. At that time, I was wondering why everyone accepted it, but I didn't. Ask EX about the situation The other party is also more casual with Spanish teachers. Admission depends on the eyes. You don't have a C 1 and you don't want to accept China students to answer me this year.
Dramatically, when I received the rejection letter in the middle of the night (because of the time difference), I was very anxious, so I sent a circle of friends to complain about why I didn't go to school. A classmate happened to believe me privately, saying that her intermediary was very good and pushed me to WeChat. She also told me, "Your conditions are much better than mine. I only have one language to learn, so I went to a major in Alcala. My friend passed the B2 exam and applied for the Autonomous University of Barcelona. "
With a grain of salt, I added a WeChat of a study abroad agent and exchanged it with my sister. Unexpectedly, what she said after listening to my conditions turned out to be "your application conditions are quite good, and it is reasonable to say that you should not have been admitted." It's a shame to say that I was dissuaded by EX at that time, thinking that this year's epidemic+exclusion from China will be squatting at home, and I was moved by this sentence. She told me something about the entrance of her students. I found that the probability of her students being admitted to a good school and a good major is really not low, and her words are very real. There is no hunger marketing such as painting pie, boasting ability and queuing up to apply, so I signed an application agreement with her with a try attitude.
At that time, it was already the end of April, and the first "war" we ushered in was Huka's first batch of applications. At that time, the school asked us to hand in the admission notice of Spanish graduate students in May, so we chose Huka, which can be provided soon, to resist the pressure from the guide. The first thing my young sister did after receiving all my application materials was to "reprocess". Time is tight and the task is heavy, but after a few days, I saw a brand-new resume, which has improved qualitatively in typesetting, content clarity and clarity. I'll send it to my mother right away. It really feels like I found the treasure!
Miss Jie not only has a high professional level, but also has a very good service attitude. Once I got up in the morning and saw the message she gave me back, I immediately replied that she had received it and thanked me. I didn't expect her to give me an expression pack every second to supplement the latest news about colleges and universities. Another time, just before Huka's first batch of results came out, my little sister and I talked a lot about Spanish schools, and then she suddenly said, "Huh? This school seems to suit you very well. " Then send me all the information and go directly to the state of choosing a major. Before the chat ended, I also made a summary of my recent study abroad. On the spot, I felt what it means to deal with everything, with a clear-cut, clear-cut and very responsible flag, just like applying for a school for myself.
The admission result can be said to be a bumper harvest. CommScope, Alcala, Huka and other schools have all issued admission notices. I have also changed from "nothing" to "turning over as a master", and I am almost picky about my school choice. Because I personally experienced the benefits of this institution, I quickly recommended two other young ladies who have not taken the initiative to sign up. Later, the two sisters also won many admissions such as CommScope, Pompeii and Alcala. Finally, they will go to Pompeii Fabra University to study Chinese-Western translation.
A particularly good thing about Miss Sister's intermediary is that it doesn't care whether it is accepted or not, and the follow-up support is super powerful! When several of us registered for class, my sister's service was always online. My sister also went to the Spanish bank to pay the registration fee for Complutense University in Madrid, which was super worry-free. I'm waiting for school to start now ~
My experience of finding an intermediary twice gave me the enlightenment that, first of all, we should ask about the admission status of the intermediary's prestigious schools, because the intermediary contract generally says that only admission is not refundable, so some intermediaries will recommend you to choose the "guaranteed admission" major, which is generally more expensive and the students' level is uneven. If you go with a learning attitude, you are likely to step on the pit; Secondly, I would like to ask whether the admission rate of students majoring in language and literature is high, and on what conditions. If the other party suggests that you re-apply for C 1 on the grounds that you don't recruit Chinese people, or suggest that you underreport or not apply for this major when volunteering, then you need to reconsider the choice of intermediary; Finally, if the other party only recommends some "safe" majors to you, or even enrollment projects, some enrollment institutions will charge extra high project fees. Please keep your eyes open in this situation, because some schools and majors enter the society after graduation, and HR can see the problem at a glance and need to choose carefully.
This is my five-month application season. I hope I can help you ~ Students who need to find a young lady can add this WeChat: stayinspaiin.
