Hydroponics: Natural hibernation refers to putting turtles into hibernation when winter comes, rather than artificially raising the environmental temperature to prevent turtles from hibernating. The water conservation method is to put the turtle that wants to hibernate in a basin, and put a little water in the basin, which is generally just the skirt of the turtle. This method is suitable for water turtles, not for semi-water turtles. Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that the ambient temperature of the basin is within the range of 5 to 10 degrees to avoid water freezing. 5 to 10 degrees is more suitable for water turtles to hibernate. If it is too low, there is a risk of death and the quality of hibernation is not high. Put the basin in a quiet and dark corner and check the water change once a month.
Wet method: Wet method refers to covering the turtle with sand or wet towel or moss, straw and leaves, and sprinkling water regularly to keep it moist. Wet method is suitable for water turtles and semi-water turtles. Wet application of towel: Use old clothes or wet towels at home to hibernate turtles (preferably cotton). Wash before use, and ensure the environmental humidity during hibernation, preferably around 70%. Then put the turtle in a corner that is not easily disturbed indoors, so as not to affect the quality of hibernation. During hibernation, you should also check the turtle's condition and the humidity of the environment, and handle it in time if you find any lesions.
