Meridian is a unique system connecting exterior and interior with viscera and organs. The study on the essence of meridian activity is a long-term medical subject. For half a century, although various means have been used for research and exploration, no conclusion has been reached. So some people say it's nerves, blood vessels, bioelectricity, conduction system lower than nerves and so on. But it ignores the role of vital qi, which plays an important role in the body. As long as we practice the method of promoting qi well and understand the route, direction and intensity of promoting qi, it will inspire the study of meridians. Ming? Li Shizhen's famous assertion that "the inner tunnel is only impressive" in the Eight Veins of the Strange Classics is the crystallization of his personal practice of "looking back and looking inward".
Meridian, called meridian tunnel in Neijing, is composed of tunnels with different gaps between tissues. Such as muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, glands, etc. There is a strict division of labor and a coordinating role. The reason why these tissues can move rhythmically must depend on the continuous flow of qi in the tunnel to give energy to meet the physiological requirements. The operation method of qi is to strengthen and restore physiological functions by cultivating qi and dredging collaterals as the main means. Because there are different tissues and organs around acupoints, when acupuncture touches a certain tissue, that tissue sends out its own signal, so it feels sour, numb, heavy, tight, bloated and painful. According to clinical practice, the feeling of soreness is the reaction of needle approaching or stabbing tendon. For example, Zusanli point is between two tendons, so the feeling of acid swelling is particularly obvious when stabbing, which is consistent with the feeling of acid swelling when directly stabbing tendons; Numbness and electric shock are the reaction of needle pressing or touching nerve trunk; Deep stabbing pain is stabbing blood vessels, because sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves are densely distributed on the wall of blood vessels; Although the needle is difficult to enter, it hits the bone directly; Feeling heavy and swollen is a sign of qi activity. This shows that the relationship between meridians and various organizations is very close.
The so-called meridians refer to twelve straight and large tunnels, which are closely related to viscera. For example, the lung meridian of the hand Taiyin, pericardium meridian of the hand Jueyin and heart meridian of the hand Shaoyin are distributed on the inner side of the arm, which is called hand Yin San, belonging to the genus, moving the hand from the chest (the direction of qi). Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian and Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian are distributed on the outside of the arm, which are called Hand Sanyang and belong to the exterior, and the head moves by hand. Stomach Meridian of Foot Yangming, Gallbladder Meridian of Foot Shaoyang and Bladder Meridian of Foot Taiyang are distributed on the lateral and posterior sides of legs, which are called Foot Sanyang, belonging to the exterior and walking from head to toe. The spleen meridian of Foot Taiyin, the liver meridian of Foot Jueyin and the kidney meridian of Foot Shaoyin are distributed on the inner side of the leg, which is called Yin San of Foot, belonging to the genus from foot to abdomen. These twelve classics are called serious, end to end, and the true qi runs in the meantime, such as gushing. In addition, there are eight strange meridians, which are the links between the twelve meridians. Their names are Du Meridian, Ren Meridian, Chong Meridian, Dai Meridian, Impotence, and Impotence. If the twelve meridians is compared to a big river, then the odd meridian and eight veins can be compared to a lake. What about Ming? Zhang Jiebin said by analogy with the classics: "Classics are the rivers of the earth, and the network is still the rivers of Yuan Ye." The rise and fall of true qi in the twelve meridians depends on eight strange meridians, of which Ren and Du meridians are the most important. Ren meridian belongs to the yin in the front and middle, and always leads to the yin meridian; Du meridian belongs to yang in the back, and the president wears yang meridian. Therefore, Hua Boren called Ren the Twelve Classics of the Fourteen Classics of Maihe Cooperative Transformation. In practice, every meridian of the whole body is connected successively when the governor meridian is connected. On each meridian, there are also many parts that promote qi, that is, acupoints. This is the origin of acupoints.
The so-called collaterals, with fifteen meridians, run through the Yin meridian and Yang meridian, and are the ties that the twelve meridians communicates with each other from outside to inside. Subtle collaterals are called solar collaterals and floating collaterals, which are spread all over the body like a net.
The operation method of the true qi is to make the true qi circulate along the meridians, reach the limbs and bones through the internal organs, and supply sufficient energy to various tissues and systems of the body, so as to make the metabolism vigorous and enhance the physiological functions of the body. More and more vigorous vitality will naturally improve health and prevent diseases. "LingShu? Meridian "said:" Meridian, so life and death, all diseases, adjust the actual situation, can not be blocked. " Li Qian also said in "Introduction to Medicine": "Doctors don't know meridians, while Jews walk at night without candles." Under the guidance of meridian theory, ancient and modern physicians have formulated the principles of guiding qi, drugs entering meridians, selecting points along meridians, guiding massage, diagnosis and treatment, and preventing diseases. Meridian theory is an important theory of Chinese medicine to guide clinical practice, but the movement of qi is the essence of meridian activity. Qi is the energy of life, and meridians are the meridians of qi, which are interdependent. Therefore, the essence of meridian activity is the movement of qi. If the movement of qi is ignored, the material basis of meridian activities will be lost, and the comprehensive understanding of meridians will be unclear. Meridians and collaterals exist objectively in human body, which can be proved to be true and false through the practice of activating qi. Acupuncture therapy can get rid of diseases and make a scientific explanation.
