Why does Buddhism require "no food in the afternoon"? Science?
This is the school established by the Buddha. In history, the Buddha was the first person to set up a school. The purpose is to let Biku people know that we don't eat to satisfy greed, but to let our bodies have enough energy to survive. This is quite a scientific practice, because the consumption of dinner is unnecessary and it is easy to increase the burden on the body.

Out-of-season food pie departure: Out-of-season food pie departure, sometimes translated as not eating after noon. In other words, stop eating at an inappropriate time. Inappropriate, Pali vikàla, that is, inappropriate time. The period between the middle of the sun (noon) and the dawn of the next day, that is, the period when the Buddha's arhats don't eat, is called "untimely". Food, sometimes called medicine. According to the precepts, there are four kinds of drugs: time-limited drugs, time-limited drugs, seven-day drugs and terminal drugs. 1. Time-limited medicine-food that can only be eaten during the appearance (dawn) and the middle of the sun. There are two kinds of time-limited drugs, namely: (1) eating, eating, soft eating and eating together. The law says, "Five kinds of food are called eating: rice, pasta, fried food, fish and meat. A. Rice-rice and porridge cooked with seven kinds of cereals, such as rice and wheat. B. pasta-flour products made from wheat. C, stir-frying five grains-seven kinds of five grains are baked and fried; It also includes the powder thrown out after the rice is fried. D fish-including all aquatic animals, such as fish, turtles, shrimps, crabs and shellfish. E. Meat-meat, bone, blood, skin, eggs, milk, etc. Birds and beasts. (2) Chewing is also a hard food, not eating properly, but eating. Khàdana, which means chewing. Chewing refers to foods that must be chewed, such as fruits and tubers of plants. The law says, "Except for five kinds of instant food, time-sharing medicine, seven-day medicine and life-saving medicine, all other foods are called chewing. In addition to the above five ways of eating, what is generally used as food can be summarized as chewing, such as fruits, vegetables, melons and beans. In addition, cereal, Merlot, Haolike, Avatar, soybean water, sweet potato soup, cocoa, chocolate, cheese and three-in-one coffee are not allowed to take time out. According to the inheritance of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Thailand, pure coffee without creamer can be taken out for drinking. Because Burmese people regard tea as food, Biku in Myanmar does not drink tea after noon. But Biku in Sri Lanka and Thailand thinks tea is a life-saving medicine.

2. Time-sharing medication-fruit juice and uncooked vegetable juice limited to one day. Such as mango juice, apple juice, orange juice, banana juice and grape juice. In the Tibetan Medicine Law, he said, "Zhubiku, I allow all fruit juices except cereal juice. Except vegetable juice, bamboo is cool and allows all leaf juices. Zhu Biku allows all flower juices except honey flower juice. Jubiku, allow all sugarcane juice. According to the annotation of Tibetan Law, big fruit and other grains are considered to be suitable for making grains, and its juice cannot be used as a time-consuming medicine. Such as coconut juice, watermelon juice, cantaloupe juice, etc. The preparation method of time-sharing medicine is: juice the small fruit to be squeezed into juice with uninhibited people such as Shamanella or cold water at home, and then filter it. The filtered fruit juice can be drunk with cold water, sugar or salt. Don't drink any cooked vegetable juice or fruit juice in the afternoon, because once cooked, fruit juice becomes a time-limited medicine. However, heating in the sun is allowed. At present, there are many packaged fruit juices on the market, such as apple juice and orange juice, which are sterilized at high temperature before leaving the factory and are not suitable for drinking in the afternoon. If the medicine is stored until the next morning, don't drink it. 3. Seven-day medicine-the medicine that Biku is allowed to store and eat within seven days. There are five kinds of seven-day medicines, namely: raw crisp, cooked crisp, oil, honey and sugar. The "seven days" here is compared with the comparison library, but there is no limit to the number of days of Sha Maneira. 4. Life-ending drugs (lifelong drugs)-drugs with no prescribed time limit. This kind of medicine does not include the first three drugs, and is generally used to treat diseases rather than being eaten as food. Take time-sharing medicine, seven-day medicine and life-saving medicine when there is a cause, such as time-sharing medicine when thirsty and seven-day medicine or life-saving medicine when sick. 5. Mixed drugs-Sometimes different kinds of drugs may be mixed and eaten together. If time-limited drugs are added to time-limited drugs, seven-day drugs or end-of-life drugs, they should be regarded as time-limited drugs. For example, Chinese herbal medicines such as Lycium barbarum, Codonopsis pilosula and Cinnamomum cassia belong to life-saving drugs, but adding pork, chicken and other soup becomes a time-limited drug, which should not be eaten over time. There are three conditions that constitute out-of-season food: 1. In non-seasonal foods; 2. Time-limited drugs; Swallow. The following situations do not constitute violations: 1. Take time-sharing medicine, seven-day medicine or life-saving medicine when there is a cause. 2. When ruminants ruminate, food is swallowed and not spit out. 3. Crazy people. 4. Confused people.
