Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1956. It is one of the earliest four institutions of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine in China, which was established with the approval of the State Council under the cordial care of Zhou Enlai and other first-generation leading collectives of the Party and the country. The school covers an area of 1800 mu, with 16 colleges and 34 undergraduate majors, with 22,000 full-time students, including more than 2,000 graduate students.
