The teapot made of non-Yixing purple sand looks smooth, but it feels greasy in your hand. Yixing teapot feels comfortable and gentle in contact with the skin.
Step four, listen to the sound. Yixing purple sand has been artificially produced, and the mud has been hammered many times, and then the producer has many processes. The fingerprints on it can be said to be tens of millions of times, and the knocking sound after firing is also relatively clear. When the non-Yixing pot is shaped, it is only spun out of the turntable with mud or made with a model. Mud has not been squeezed or pushed, pinched, touched, wiped or scraped by artists, so it lacks emotion.
The fifth step is to look inward. Yixing handmade pot, the pot has been difficult to see the manual trace after many processes, but you can see the cause trace by careful observation and touch in the pot. For example, the joint between the spout and the pot body is glued by hand, and there will always be a little trace exposed at the exchange place, because it is difficult for the pot maker to repair the inner body of the pot very smoothly, and there is no need to handle it very smoothly.
Step 6: Price. If you buy a teapot in the market or on a stall, you can't tell the difference between the real and the fake. The easiest way is to make a counter-offer. Serious Yixing teapot, because there are many mud materials, many production processes, and the price is more expensive, the purchase price of teapot makers is also more expensive. Most of the non-Yixing purple sands are produced in batches by injection molding in rural areas, so the cost is lower.
