Head position point is the point of foot Yangming stomach meridian at the head corner, and it is the intersection of foot Yangming stomach meridian, foot shaoyang gallbladder meridian and impotence pulse. Size means maintenance. The Yangming meridian of the foot flows with the chest, head and face, and the collaterals are in front, so Yangyang is called Wei. This point originated from Yangming pulse and maintained at the hairline of the head and forehead angle, hence the name head position.

1. Acupoint location

The head and tail acupoints are located at the frontal angle of the head, 0.5 inches above the hairline of the frontal angle and 4.5 inches beside the midline of the head. Simple acupoint selection method: take the acupoint at the hairline on the head side, one finger wide upward from the hairline point, and the muscles will move when the mouth moves. This point is from Acupuncture A-B Classic: "At the hairline of the frontal angle, the lower part of the body is 1.5 inch" (this point is 0.5 inch above the hairline and separated by 3 inches); Tongren Acupoint Acupuncture Meridian: "The frontal angle enters the hair".

2. Acupoint anatomy

Below the acupoints are skin, subcutaneous tissue, hat aponeurosis on the upper edge of temporal muscle, subeaponeurosis connective tissue and exposed adventitia. The skin is distributed by zygomatic temporal nerve and ototemporal nerve. Zygomatic temporal nerve is a branch of the second branch of trigeminal nerve (maxillary nerve), which is distributed in the skin in front of temporal area. Ototemporal nerve is a branch of the third branch of trigeminal nerve (mandibular nerve), and the frontal branches of superficial temporal artery and vein are distributed in the skin.

3. Function

Clearing brain, improving eyesight, promoting blood circulation, dredging collaterals, relieving pain and spasm.

Headache due to cold and heat, watery eyes, dyspnea, vomiting and sweating, eyelid twitching, facial forehead lines disappearing, tears in the wind, and blurred vision. It is often used to treat acupoints on the head immersed in dampness.
