Kyushu, also known as Handi, Middle-earth, Shenzhou and Twelve States, first appeared in the pre-Qin classic Shangshu Gong Yu, which is the concept of ethnic regions of China Han ancestors since ancient times. Since the Warring States Period, Kyushu has become the representative name of ancient China, and since the Han Dynasty, it has become the representative name of the Han nationality area, also known as "Kyushu in the Han Dynasty".
Since ancient times, the ancestors of the Han nationality divided the birthplace of the Han nationality into nine regions, the so-called "Kyushu". According to the records in Shangshu Gong Yu, the order of Kyushu is Jizhou, Yanzhou, Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jingzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou and Yongzhou. Erya has Youzhou and Yingzhou, but not Qingzhou and Liangzhou. Li Zhou has Youzhou and Bingzhou, but not Xuzhou and Liangzhou.
Early sources of Kyushu:
Kyushu first appeared in Gong Yu. According to legend, when Dayu was in charge of water control in ancient times, he divided "the world" into Kyushu (another way of saying it is that the Yellow Emperor created "Kyushu"), so Kyushu became synonymous with ancient land in China.
The division of Kyushu region is also different. The ancients thought that the sky was round, and "Fiona Fang" meant the range. Therefore, "Fiona Fang in Kyushu" means "this place in China". That is Fiona Fang, Kyushu, with vast territory and abundant resources, which is a magnificent sight.
