Tanaka prepared a pair of new sports shoes for the torch relay, which was a gift from her family when she celebrated 1 18 birthday in June. Family members said that Tanaka was happy to be part of the Olympic torch relay.
At present, the oldest record holder of Olympic torchbearer is Brazilian Aida Gemanque, who participated in the torch relay of Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in Brazil in 20 16 at the age of 106.
