Sherlock is a TV series produced by BBC from 20 10, which was created by steven moffat and mark gatiss and starred by benedict cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.
Adapted from arthur conan doyle's detective novel The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the play moves the original time background from19th century to 2 1 century, and tells the story of a series of dangerous and unusual adventures experienced by fashion detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend John H. Watson in the bustling London metropolis.
By the end of 20 15, the play had won 10 awards, including BAFTA's Best Feature Film, and 7 Emmy Awards for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Screenplay, and 2 1 nomination. The drama has also set a new viewing record in Britain since 200 1 and has been broadcast in more than 200 countries and regions.
Sherlock behind-the-scenes tidbits
1. In order to shape Shylock's appearance, benedict cumberbatch prepared many swimming and yoga classes. Smoking and drinking were forbidden during filming, but what he hated most was long hair, because he thought it made him look like a woman.
2. Before the performance of Doctor Who (No.1 1), matt smith auditioned Watson, and steven moffat thought he was "too abnormal". An abnormal Sherlock is enough.
3. The subway car in S3E1was filmed in West Hampton, far from Westminster, but mark gatiss chose it as a tribute to the Sumatran giant rat. The crew couldn't get the real carriage, so they made their own train carriages.
Moffat and Gatis confirmed that Shylock's arch-enemy moriarty will return in the fourth season. Besides Molly and Mrs Hudson, there will be more female characters in the new season.
